Did GMs (or seers or counselors) give out pre-blessed items?

Im having a debate with someone on some other forums, and I figured this would be a good place to come for some knowlege.

He says GMs never gave out any items that were already blessed, for tournament rewards and other gm event rewards.

I said they did give out quite a few.

Do you guys know of any examples I could cite?

Re: Did GMs (or seers or counselors) give out pre-blessed items?

On Baja, many items were given out. Named cakes and other rewards were given out by Seers to the Role Playing Communities. (for participation in Seer run quest or events) Not sure if they were blessed or not. I'm sure some could have been. Though i'm sure if it was a clothing item such as a reward for winning a tournament (such as a 1st place prize sash, and the runners up) the GM's or seers would leave it up to you to bless it with a clothing bless deed.

In the old days of the late 90's GM's would 'bless' Player run establishments with embellishments. Much of what we have today in terms of House decorating And house customization goes above and beyond what was done back then. But it added a uniqueness to the shard's history and many of those blessed locations can still be seen today. Kazola's on GL.. Pax Lair on Chessy for example.

I guess it's not a straight answer.. and I suppose the answer could be both yes and no. It would have been up to the Seer's or GM's discretion whether or not to have the item blessed.

They gave out many pre-blessed items.

Here is an example of one that I can find off hand:

Re: Did GMs (or seers or counselors) give out pre-blessed items?

On europa there were several blessed items given out by the powers that be.

To name but two
The Master of the Word Sash and ring. I think there may be only one sash left now on Europa and i havent seen a ring in a year or two now.

The sashes were unblessed at the time of issue, those of Europa anyway. I assume the other shard ones were to.

I am not sure about the extra sashes though like the Detective and Trooper ones.

Re: Did GMs (or seers or counselors) give out pre-blessed items?

GM's, Seers, and Counselors are not the same as EM's which gave out items during UO sanctioned EM events .... like the RBG sashes (some are blessed, some are not) ...

However, long ago when weddings were done by the GM's, Seers, and Counselors they would also give the wedding couple a set of weddingband rings which were automatically blessed (newbiefied style) although they don't say 'blessed'. Some were even inscribed. One way to tell if your weddingband is authentically old is to put it on but don't insure it ..... die .. rez and pray its back in your backpack

Although I know mine is (cause family tested it) ... i still insure it because my 20K diamond wedding band is not worth the strange chance it wouldn't come back even if I were to die .. which ain't gonna happen if I can help it! 87 months .. and still no grey

Pre-AOS, there was a Baja PvP contest, the winner was given a full set of shadow colored invul plate, all blessed. Full set sold for something like 300 mill on Baja tradespot.

during the first months of Uo's release back in 97 the councillors/gms did events in which you could get blessed rewards for winning the event ie being the person to kill the troll boss etc
