Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

It was never about the graphics.

The simple 2D graphics were great. They were nice and simple and complimented the indepth world which UO was.

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

Ok... I now feel sufficiently out of touch and am a definite whiner.. Am not a pixel crack kid.. do like my deco... and for me, it's about deco and my comfort zone. I see some good art and some not so good art... some cool ideas.. the hot bar idea... some bad ones.. disproportionate sizing for one... and I have posted enough to make myself feel bad about it all. I know it's beta and will improve, but I very seriously doubt the items that bother me most will ever be changed back to the way they are in 2D and that may be the killer for me. I have made my comment on the feedback page for KR. *Feeling very out of sync here... Night*

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

EA is not doing it for the player base they are doing it for money... they are doing it thinking they can compete better with the other MMOGs on the market... they have proven over the years they dont think about the player base BEFORE they do anything.. only after the fact when that player base complains and leaves......if they were so concerned about the player base then there would be no bugs from the early days of UO still hanging around.. they would have been on the ball with working on Pvp.. ect...

I hope they can get the issues resolved..... I do hope so.... but I shant believe they are doing jack for the player base just because they are concerned about us.....

I get the same thing. I can't play 1st person games for very long. I need the UO setup to enjoy a game and actually play one (skewed top down view I think its called), or the old scrolling. Those 1st person/run behinds have too much rotating for my mind, when my body and rl environment isn't actually moving, that I get sick, so I don't buy them, and I don't play on my buddies acct.'s very long either.

Edit: okay, on the mention that the post is about cry-babies griping about things... "KR isn't this and that". Sometimes people need to b**** in order for it to get through to companies/other people. "The squeeky wheel gets the oil," but I would like to add to that and say that a lot of b****ing can be done in a firm but cordial manner, because if all you're doing is whining, that "squeeky wheel's" concerns will get tossed out for a brand new shiny paying non-whining "wheel"... erm player for that matter. It is beta, so criticize, and do it a lot, but do it with tact if possible while still letting EA know UO is very important to you.

I would personally love to see a WoW Heads Up Display (or whatever you call it. I don't want to call it a UI, because I'm not sure I want those gameplay controls, at least not all of them.) with the KR environment graphics (and the ability to switch between it and 2D and possibly 3D, keeping everyone happy with "their" graphics), and the 2D/3D controls (at least as an option).

I'm like that with those kind of games too, I get a headache within an hour of playing them. I've played WoW, Archlord, D&D but I've stuck with UO because its not about grinding out skills levels.
I think they've improved the new player introduction which is something they've needed to do for a while.

I like alot of the new graphics but at the same time sad that many player made house deco isn't going to look right. Such as beds and aquariums which I guess is why they introduced the new proper one.

But UO is like a faithful companion to many and the changes are too much and too sudden for some to come to terms with. Either people will stay by something they've loved for so long or they'll give up and seek something else because its easier.

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

First off , I like the 3d client over the 2d, so I'm not that old school or hardcore to only liking the way UO was.

I was really looking forward to this upgrade however after spending 3 days on it I don't really like it, I hate the inventory changes, I think the mobs and mounts look way too cartoonish and overall it just doesn't feel right.

I really wish they'd bring back the 3d client cuz this version blows IMO.

And yes I will be canceling soon if they release it unless they bring back the 3d client.

Might as well cancel now and save your $$$. The dev team has repeatedly stated that the 3D client is NOT coming back, most recently to my ears last month in Chicago. Their goal is to get down to ONE client - not to run THREE.
