Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

Ok people have to understand kr is not wowwill never be wow and wow will never be kr. I am reading some of these post and the uo bashing is nuts, no one is holding guns to anyone's heads to play and no one started playing uo because the graphics whre ahead of it's time they never were. You play for gameplay , excitement, fun, friends.Look if graphics are that important play a good shooting game good graphics get boring after a while but fun gameplay is priceless and p.s if your patient im sure the graphics will improve over time

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

Sad thing is, if anyone would take a little time to do a little research, they would have found out just what the new graphics engine is capable of, what it has been used on, and what our potential future with UO could be.

http://www.emergent.net/index.php/ho...vices/gamebryo

Yeah, this is sucky technology, to say the least.

Looks like they have had to REALLY tone this beast down to accommodate those folks that are still playing on older systems.

As for the interface being WoW like, I counter that if the interface from WoW looks like that, THEY stole it from U9.

It just throws me way off that everyone is making final judgement on a product that isn't even out of Beta yet, either basing it on poor quality screenies, poorer quality video caps, or from discussion (in violation of the NDA) with others on a non-finished product. I am in the beta, and while I won't make any comments that violate the NDA, it is still a beta project, with more work to be done. I don't know why people expect anything more than that at this stage.

Precisely Guido and kingtony! Thank you!

The ability to accommodate so many types of machines probably does diffuse, for now, what they are designing for UOs' future. Until the finished product is released, we really have no way of knowing if we will like what they have done.

I think thats is why its called BETA... Test Test Test

So it makes me wonder why UO ignores their strongest point? This is the most engrossing game for the D&D generation & Video Aracade generation ever. It is the mature gamers paradise. Those who want a challenge, come here, and almost always return. Why do they not work harder at atracting more of us?
What they said, when they started changing things and we vets complained loud and long, they really did not want the vets so they were changing it to attract the younger crowd. The vets could just leave
EA is in the process of doing the same thing to DAoC. I left there and reopened my accoiunt but am wondering if it is playable for me anymore, Houses, yes I found a place, in invalid areas. Mobs from T2A swarming near the desert along with ogre lords and all of the lower dungeon mobs such as acid elementals. I wonder is the gate exploit is back?

Whiners are not needed anyway.
A fully 3d game with the old ruleset (they did a Legacy server on DAoC and it drew many players back )
there is a good attitude... funny thing how folks believe all should be in the same financial state as they are and should have the same means to buy what ever their hearts want...The US government is made up of Rich folks.. where as a good portion of the population is no where near being upper class money wise... the folks that pass laws for us can not understand that 5 bucks is a gold mine to a good portion of those they govern

I give EA a thumbs up for keeping the fact in mind with KR that not everyone has the ability to have the highest internet speed nor the funds to keep the top of the line computer setting at home..

The view of I can do it so everyone else should blows chunks.....

Peace

If you just came back, you managed to wander into the tail end of an event called The Candle of Love. It should be over now, at least as far as Lake Superior is concerned (which is also my home shard)

As far as housing goes, there is plenty of it on LS, and not just 7x7's. In the last month, in Trammel, I have found several 13 and 14x10's, a 17x14 plot (which is max lockdowns for a customizable) and literally dozens of smaller ones. I have been back personally for about 4 months now, and for myself, have placed a 15x14 on Trammel, and a classic L in Malas. I haven't bothered checking on the Felucca side of things, but I am positive there are plenty of spots there as well.

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

Why they spend money fixing graphics that are not broken is beyond me. Being able to run UO on EACH of our networked CPU's INCLUDING the "hand cranked" is great because that allows me to introduce a guest in my home to UO. Honestly folks layered graphics are old, I used them 50 years ago making silk screen prints in school. Just because they are new to the computer does NOT make them new. If they are new to you all that means you have not studied much art. Whatever your background tho you are a gamer or you would not be reading this, so you should know that what counts in any game is not, "Does it look faddish?" rather, "Does it work?"
2d works.
Now interface graphic is a Different thing, allowing 2d to see the monster loot without a pile of stuff to paw through levels the field between 2d and 3d which is good, seeing a vender pack without a pile on the bottom is also good. Better would be to be able to add arrows to my quiver without having to have my paperdoll up, Better would be seeing how many EV's I have still alive without the large status bar up. I still have hopes that KD will incorperate some changes that I find worthwhile.

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

Okokok I know I win the whiner prize on the forum these days BUT I am getting optimistic. Something must have happened during the day cause something was pretty damn sweet when I logged into KR right now. I love the 2d client and I hope I will be able to run it to some extent, but I think KR will be a nice addition too. I don't see why we need it, but im not gonna whine anymore about it. It is in fact still a very unfinished beta and I can see the improvements day by day.

Re: Cry-babies over KR. Whaaa. :'(

Personally i do expect each UO expansion to be a improvement and better than the last. Sadly to date, none have done that since renaissance. People have high expectations for KR me included and all of us have different options, so just see all the criticism as constructive, just like i do

Thanks for the info on why the mobs were there, I sure hope that is it, but after seeing T2a with nothing in it I was worried.
.
I found many spots for a house and I always play Fel so housing is no problem. I found many larger spots and probably will replace the house when it is legal to do so.
