![]() | Considering starting UO (Sorry if anyone sees the thread I started in new member area--looks like that one is just to announce new folks) I played UO for a brief period right after Renaissance came out. I noticed Mondain's Legacy and have thought of trying the game again. I am a casual gamer who likes to let the game world unfold. I don't power level, twink, or buy stuff from web sites. I like the escapism :cheesy: Anyway, is it worth it, for a newbie, to start UO these days? |

When I do get in game I always have something to do. And if you truly do enjoy letting the game unfold, you could have years of fun and still never tap into everything in game (if you have the right resources). If you pick it up, don't be suprised at how "weak" your character starts out (if you choose a warrior or mage). Just stick with it and don't tackle anything you can't handle too soon. |

![]() | Re: Considering starting UO Thanks for the reply. I remember signing on and just chopping down trees and making planks and then furniture. My wife thought I was nuts but I loved it. Then, go and kill some monsters Hmmm, talking myself into it again Looks like I'll be downloading later...Are all the shards about the same level of activity? I played on east coast ones before. |

I play on both Pacific and Lake Superior, and find both enjoyable. Pac for the rp and LS for the community spirit. You'll find each shard has a bit of a different personality. Spend a day on a few before making your final choice. I think most who post on these boards are very willing to help folks get started. Just pm one of us who plays on the shard of your choice. And welcome back! ![]() ![]() Thanks to Maddux for the wonderful sig! |
