Coloring Runestones

According to Stratics:

"One of the 4th Year Vet Rewards is a runebook / runestone dye tub. With this tub you can dye the cover of your runebook in a variety of colors. You can also dye individual runestones. The color of these runestones will be retained when you drop it in a runebook.

Tip: Miners can dye their rune stones and/or rune books in the color of the ore found on the target spots."

Has anyone had a miner color the runestones? Are they saying that the dye tub has special marks that coincide with ore colors, or that miners (of any 'age') can color USING ore or ore locations? If miners (of any vintage) can color runestones, how does a miner actually do it?

Basically saying, you can find colors actual or close to all ore colors. Has nada to do specifically with miners.
Just an example.

I have coloured rune books and runes to similar colour to the ore at that site....

also done the same with books and runes for timber....

Great help when short of a particular ore or timber.
