![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Champion spawns The how many creatures depends on the level of the spawn. I believe the lowest level requires 256? (There's more information on uo.stratics.com or uoguide) and the highest level is 16 to get to the next level. I'm not sure how that translates into candles. If you're out there alone and not being attacked by outside sources (you can share the spawn, but hunt alone until the champ itself), then your best spawning option is to get an ogre lord or arctic ogre lord (depending on the spawn, usually AOL is better), follow the ogre lord into the fight. Stand on top of your pet then spam either wither or essense of wind (with level 4 focus, use EoW, otherwise wither). You'll clear out the first 3 levels extremely quickly with little risk to you. Then you kill off the ogre lord and use EVs or EEs at the edge of the spawn, working your way to the middle. By the time you get to the middle, the spawn usually advances to the next level. Stay in wraith form to replenish your mana, make sure you heal your pets (gift of renewal is great for that). That's the general idea. The spawn and the terrain and the situation usually requires adjustments to the plan. For example, the burning gargoyles in the demon spawn will preclude the option of you getting close and will kill an AOL quickly, thus you need to use EVs sooner and advancing to the next level level will be harder. And, of course, if you're raided, the plan changes completely. |

They are close to Valor and Humility if I remember right. That way you can get a feel for the spawns, and what works best. Then move on to one of the Fel ones, and you will have some idea what to expect. but as Farsight said, if you get raided, all spawn plans fly out the window lol. ![]() We are all broken and wounded in this world. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Champion spawns Once you see the spawn, the spawn is activated. You can not activate the spawn unless you are a knight of valor (meaning you have to do a spawn before you can start a spawn). Abyss spawn is probably the hardest to do at all levels. You will not finish a spawn alone with that template. You can get to the champ, but the champ will take forever... Or at least hours (Side note, a tamer and a samurai/swordsman with a GD and a soul seeker/vermin slayer talisman can do Baracoon himself in about 30-40 minutes, more time than all the spawn leading to him-and he's the EASY one) So lesson one is take friends until you learn how to finish it. Learning how to spawn and learning how to defend spawn are two entirely different things, which is why it is advisable to learn the spawning process on the Ilshenar spawns before moving to the Felucca spawns. You only have to complete one spawn... then you can activate the Felucca spawns with no trouble, being a knight of valor. And that's lesson two. Learn how to win before going for the bigger risk spawns. The best advice I can give you now is to attach yourself to a guild which does the spawns on a more regular basis. You'll likely have to start with defending the spawns (and working your PvP skills), but you'll have a good chance at learning things and getting the scrolls. Or you can go the route that I originally travelled and go with a few people to out of the way spawns, there are two that have been fairly safe in my experience, and every time you get raided you lose the spawn. Either you die or you win and leave before reinforcements come. And reinforcements always come. The first method will be more productive, and the second method will allow you to keep your freedom from large PvP guild rules (and getting scrolls every so often is better than not getting scrolls at all).
