My computer will not complete a patch at all. It goes up to a certain point then says has an error. It also will not me log into any account on UO.
I tried everything that uo suggested to do as well as other things people have told me. I uninstalled UO and reinstalled it. I even called UO intself but they could not figure out anything.
They mentioned something about a router problem since the wife and I are connected to our modem from a router (something about the internal firewall).
However I tried just hooking my computer up to the modem(cable) itself but to no avail. It still does not work.
Ok So I been having a little problem with my windows so I reinstalled windows but UO still does not patch or let me log in. W
Well I finally found out my sound PCI card is not working properly. Two questions would a sound card interfere with UO patching? Second, Is there a way to fix it or is it better to just install a new sound card?
I have a extra older computer that I am using at the moment but its slower than crap when I try to play UO.
Any advise or answers would be greatly appreciated.

I would uninstall UO, once that's finished, remove the UO directory manually, if it's still there.

Then, restart your pc

Once restarted, disable any software firewall, antivirus or spyware program

Install UO, try and patch again

The sound card wouldn't affect patching.

Well I did try all that. You know of anything else that would cause it?
I even reinstalled windows and made sure all firewalls, etc were off.

Hrm, ya definatly removed the UO directory itself?

At what point does it get stuck? When it tries to apply a certain patch?

Yes I directly removed it. It goes to about patch 25 then gives me the error message that its not update but I might be able to still play. However I cant even log in.

Yea, it would block the login

Erm.....one question, what version of UO are you patching from?

Kevin I don't know if it will work for you. I get that message when patching sometimes. It usually happens after the download and before it finish applying the new patch. I usually go to the trouble of trying to start UO and then closing it down. I will then restart it. It normally finish patching for me the second time around.

got a question for ya. has it done anykind of patching at all? if so there is a directory in your uo files named "patch". go into this file and delete anything that is in this folder. then try again. (im guessing that you have already tried this, if so sorry for this post).

Yeah i have tried all that. I am just not sure what to do now. It depresses me when I cant play my UO right

Do you have any friends that have UO or is there a local internet cafe that lets you download and burn to a cd. That way you can just download the patch from file planet or UO, save it to a disk, than transfer it to your download directory. That should have you all patched up, till the next patch that is. ;)

My secound advice would be to delete your 9th anniversary file (If you had a bad disk it would error on you) and download the mondain legacy from their website, then see if you can patch it off that.

Hope that either of these are viable options.
