Armslore does help on DI while fletching bows. The higher Armslore is the higher DI will be

Tony, I jsut made some amazing bows (trying to get one for snuggs). If you put together snuggs and Bo's excellent advice,

1) Get a talisman. Max possible bonus is 30 / 30. This is absolutely essential. Depending on the bow you are making, you will want chance to suceed and chance exeptional to be about equal. If you are making a light x-bow (my favorites), which has a 100% chance of success at gm, but only 55% chance of exceptional, then you REALLY need the highest exceptional chance you can get (which would be 85% if you had a +30 talisman).

2) GM arms lore. With yew wood, you can craft 50 DI bows!!

3) Select bows carefully. Are you going for a PvM bow, or PvP bow? Do you want highest swing speed? Highest damage for two hit kills?

4) select woods carefully, they DO stack.

5) Some recipe bows are bugged. You cannot make exceptional ones using kits, like the slayer bow. BOO.

5) I am getting EXCELLENT results with yew kits. Lemme see what you get from a heartwood!!!. My best x-bow so far was:
(ash enhanced)
40 velocity
35 Magic arrow
34 mana leech
10 SSI
40 DI

reason i bought a heartwood was i was looking at bow prices and i couldnt beging to pay 20 mil for a good not great bow but now i might have jmped the gun i should have waited since i have to gm arms lore first and look for a 30/30 talismon

Arms Lore is really easy to raise. it raises naturaly when you craft or you can set a macro. Put 4 or 5 weapons in your pack, record while you arms lore each one of them and set it to your space bar. Its boring but it raises really quick.

If you are using UO macro, you can do it with one weapon. Any weapon will work.
