There were two great features to TD. One, you could make your character act silly by dancing or whatever. Two, it was easier to see what the heck you had in your pack. Three, I remember the fastest I ever been able to move in the game was during the Despise monsters invasion of Brit while on the TD client.
I was zipping around, the monsters were chasing me!!!!
But, really, does KR have the extra animations that TD had? I'm not an expert, but the screenshots I've seen so far look sorta the same as TD did just with different interfaces and a few tweaks here and there. (With the addittion to a more polygonal-looking overworld.) The sure fire way to tell if another person was playing TD while you were on the 2D client was that "dancing" showed them walk in place and also they'd play dead, too.
