I woke up today and my computer was down. While I was sleeping the power supply went down in a blaze of glory

So here I sit on my GFs machine.

I will not be able to grab further video of the event until the machine is back up because this computer just can't handle it. Not that this machine is all that bad but it just doesn't have the guts to run that kind of stuff.

I cannot upload the last 2 vids I did grab until the machine is up either.

But at least I can still play the game from this machine.

ouch. I guess that's why I shut mine down at night these days. Too scared of hitting the max hours on something that should have exploded already.

Did you check pricewatch for a new one?

Make sure you buy the guarantee-backed ones, and go for about 50-100w max over what you need.

Also, you could use FRAPS to record some footage, correct? Or are you getting that kind of lag?

I hate the lag demon....

Fraps wouldn't run with uo for me kinda bummed about that also because fraps would have been a great way to capture the video. However with some tuning I was able to get this machien to record UO with decent quality but I do lag a little bit while doing it. Manageable though so it looks like I will be able to continue grabbing footage of this

I looked up a new PSU for this machine and it will cost around 110.00 for the one I want but I also am sending the old unit back because it may be covered under the warranty since it was less than 1 year old.

I built this machine about 7 or 8 months ago and so far I have had to send back the mouse and dvd burner both have been covered so I imagine this will be also.

Can't complain to much about those parts because the power supply is one thing I expect to replace often and the mouse takes plenty of wear the only one i was not happy about was the HP dvd burner because it was barely used during the time I had it and it stopped reading discs for no reason. At least HP was good about replacing it in a quick time frame.
