I remember quite a long time ago seeing a bonded ogre lord in Shame, I think. Because I'm looking into a spellweaving bard I noticed that Dryad Allure can be used to temporarily control any reponds for a certain amount of time. But how would you get one to stay with you for a week? Can you stable them? And are you able to recast dryad allure over and over to make sure that the big nasty doesn't leg it? And once its bonded would you still need to cast dryad allure? Thanks

I'm fairly sure Dryad Allure can't bond any critters to your character... but then again I've never even dreamed of trying to keep an allured OL for a week. Would think server maintenance makes it impossible anyway.

Anyhoo, once a creature is allured you don't need to recast the spell. The critter sticks with you until you either release it, leave it (ie. recall away or something, it won't follow you unless you use Gate), or it dies. Until then it works just like a tame unbonded pet.

Come to think of it, I've never tried to stable such a critter. Hmm...

I strongly suspect that your bonded ogre lord was in reality an imprisoned dog, a rare peerless drop 'in a crystal' creature which instantly bonds with the person who shatters the crystal and which has changeling ability.

It is impossible to bond anything with spellweaving. Either you thought you saw something you didn't or maybe it was a dupers dog in ogre form.

Not everyone who has an imprisoned dog is/was a duper. They were put into the game for other things than cheating.

Was there ever any reasoning given for those things?

I mean a dog, in a crystal, that shapeshifts? What? Were they high? Were they designing items via Mad Libs that day?
