So, I'm back from a long break and I decided to start up my miner. I keep getting blackrock (haven't seen the elementals everyone is worried about yet).

I know the history of what it was doing, but I was wondering what exactly it is used for now. I haven't really found a use for it aside from exploding one piece on my mage.

I know people have it on vendors for insane amounts, so what is the reason for this?

Blackrock is usable against Ethereal Shadowlords at the alter-Moonglow event spawn. You cast the spell Armageddon (forgot the words to cast - check around in forums). Shadowlords haven't been spawning much anymore lately on Atlantic. The Armageddon spell takes 1/2 the damage remaining off Shadowlord. Top 3 damagers to shadowlord get 'Cloak of Corruption' in pack, supposed to be used in upcoming phase of event Next phase of event will be spawn in Delucia, Cove and Nu'jelm (pub 53) and am unsure if blackrock will have any use there. I believe the wording for the Armageddon spell is as follows: "VAS KAL AN MANI IN CORP HUR TYM". Have the BR in your pack, stand near the Ethereal Shadowlord (within a tile or two to be sure), recite those words (I placed the phrase on a hotkey), and watch the fireworks! BOOOOOOM

A sidenote: any character can cast the spell on the Ethereal Shadowlords, regardless of magery skill. My thief was quite successful with it, and had no magery whatsoever.
