Best way to tame something angry??
Is the peace making ability the best way to tame dragons/drakes etc? Or does the mage/tamers out there use paralyze etc?
I am a mage/tamer and sometimes I have trouble taming things without them being too angry or what can happen is they kill me while I kite them around. Any suggestions would be appreciated ![]() |

Re: Best way to tame something angry??
I lead tame.
Stay just a few steps in front of the critter and tame. If the critter has magery I play with it for a while, beating it down while draining some of it's mana. Once it is beaten down to a sliver of life it is easier to tame as it walks much slower at me and therefore I only have to heal the magery damages.

Not 100% sure, think I've done it, invising yourself will make it lose you as a target until it re-aggros giving you a second or two and you should instantly pop-out once you do the "I've been looking for a pet like you." etc. etc. if not then take a step in a direction that will keep you close to the (to be tamed critter). Think I did it when I was getting a dragon off me while attempting to tame a drake. |

Thanks for the tips everyone. I kind of figured I would end up kiting them around I just need to get better at it. I will also look into that honor thing.

Re: Best way to tame something angry??
I prefer to peace them, then using a macro keep attempting to tame them, it might take a bit, but it usuall catches after the third or forth try. With the macro for taming its a lot easier and faster than click and target. The only problem after that would be if they break peace before you finish, they hit you and you have phys reflect on any armor u wear. That makes them angry again. If that happens, peace, tame rince repeat.

Re: Best way to tame something angry??
LOL
Yea I agree, lead taming is the easiest way, but it is best to knock the beasts health down, so it isn't as fast. Peacemaking obviously helps ALOT Something to bear in mind though, once you tame your first dragon/wyrm or whatever, with bonding, you won't need to retame another again So it's worth a few deaths if necessary ![]() |

Re: Best way to tame something angry??
Yes but after you bond your pet, don't forget it loses skills when it dies. Not much, but there have been several times I collected a death robe or two myself just to keep my 7xgm wyrm alive lol.

Re: Best way to tame something angry??
Also get yourself a sc 0fc bow, without arrows.
Holding this will stop you hitting the beast and breaking the taming attempt.

Re: Best way to tame something angry??
I have always just tabbed into then back out of war mode. That keeps me from smacking the critter.
