What do you guys think are the hottest crafted items? I can craft most stuff and wondered what to go for. Also interested in making hard-to find things for niche markets.

For instance, I sell every scroll in one place. It's not often needed but can be a great boon to someone having a hard time finding a particular scroll or wanting to fill a blank spellbook all at once.

well unless you have runic kits.. theres not use crafting weapons or armor ... but scrolls, potions, and trapped boxes would sell decently

How do you make trapped boxes and what do they do?

just like merth said in the other thread.. it gets you out of paralyzation... and I'm to lazy to give you a detailed description of how to make them right now.. kind of why theres a market.. I'm to lazy to make them.

You will need a crafted box, with a key.

Then in tinker menu, select trap. The exact components for each trap can be found here.

Then target the container. Voila, trapped. For breaking paralyze, the best is the dart trap. The most damage comes from explode and poison. Especially if you use the new UO:ML potions.

Might I also point you to this thread for various other niche ideas as a vendor? Quite a few good ideas in there from various forum members.

Since you have a scribe, runebooks sell especially well. Trammel and felluca cities (usually near a bank), and trammel/felluca dungeons are old stand-by's. You can also make hot spot books, with the main hunting areas. Many of us here in the forum started out doing just this. Very lucrative, but time consuming.
Quest books are quite popular as well, especially human to elf. Kitiara used to sell them in quest kits, with all the items needed to complete the quest. She could not keep them in stock.

Bags of sending always sell well, if reasonably priced. They can be done quickly too. PM Rascal for tips and tricks on how to do this fast. She is an expert.

Merth found that colored wood parrot perches and crackers sell fast.

Leather, annd more leather. Precious commodity, especially spined and barbed. There is always a need for horned as well, since noone ever farms it. But they are used in high end bods. Vepl and Bendavho had particular success with this. I can also point you to good places to gather each type.

Orange petals are always saleable.

Repair deeds. But these move best when maade by Legendary tailor / smith. In my own experience, I have found that tinker and carp deeds move slowest.

Musical instruments, GM made. They fly out like hotcakes.

I can go on and on. There are several of these ideas and more in the thread i pasted.

One thing you can do is do target market research by checking out all the wares in Luna. Searchuo (link in my signature) makes that much easier and faster.

Speaking of Kitiara - has anybody heard from her. I really liked reading her posts.

Kitiara had some awful things happen in-game, and has since taken leave... I think I speak for most of us when I say we hope she one day comes back
