What is the best one-handed swordsmanship weapon to use for PvM?

Radiant scimitar (soul seeker)

Katana comes in a close second (only 1 point of damage less per swing), but the radiant scimitar wins with the whirlwind special.

agreed it is the soulseeker hands down. my friend and i are 120 swordsman with 120 healing. standing next to each other in the ogre/trog room in etheral fortress we can clear it in no time at all using whirlwind and 2 second x heals.

There is no "best" anything in UO anymore.

It's all a combination of your preferences and the needs of the moment.

While Galen's player has a point, the best one-handed, non-crafted weapon out there for a Swordsman is still Soulseeker.

You might be able to find a runic-crafted blade that better suits your playstyle, favorite specials or the mods you prefer - but Soulseeker is darn tootin'!

Nice...

Here is my problem. I have a blacksmith and a golden runic hammer I want to burn to make a one handed sword weapon for this character. So you think Katana would be best?

Depends on the special you want. Radiants have 1 more point of base damage.

Maybe try getting some blacksmith recipe scrolls from Heartwood then using those with the runic, it should give you the recipe weapon's properties stacked ontop of the runic.
