ok i just wanted to say thank you to all u that gave me info on this quest. i finished it and now i know how to do it. Chave982 i noticed that after killing 7 solen infltraters the quest update didn't pop up, so i would say just kill em till the quest update pops up.

Just a note:

Don't use the rare seed that you get from the Naturalist's quest to start the powder of trans quest with the matriarch. use a different seed. you can get the regular ones off bog things or boglings (i forget which) or some bonsai seeds off of elite ninjas and other tokuno mosnters. keep the rare seed and grow it into a nice plant for your own house or sell for anywhere from 5k to 25k depending on what type of plant it is. (or sell the seed) a lot of people will buy those rare colors either in seed or plant form. if you haven't grown any plants yet start with other ones besides the rares for you learn on. here is a great plant growing site if you are interested in growing them: http://www.patterson.cx/uo/ . there is also a lot of info on stratics but you usually have to search to find any of it. Also if you grow a bright green barrel cactus or a bright green snake plant they will produce 8 seeds and 8 green thorns each. Glad to be of assistance!

ok now that we are on the subject of plants, how do u start a plant??? I found "fertild dirt" but i don't know what's next or even if thats what i need .

oh ya, i did go to that website marabeth but it had nothing on how to start to grow plants or i miss it but i did look thru it.

Can someone tell me exactly what the bag and powder do? What they are used for?

Dbl clicking the bag will give you a targeting cursor. You can then target a single item (pouchs/bags with items inside will not work) that is not cursed. It will send it to your bank box. Most people use it for gold/hides. The powder is used to recharge the bag, pet ball and braclet of binding.
