I thought arcane clothing was required for spellweaving? If not, what use does it have? I just recently added spellweaving and I seem to be doing fine without arcane items?

Arcane clothing has charges. When you run out of regs, you can use the charges on the arcane items. It works for mage spells, but I don't know if it works on any other spells.

it works for anything that requires regs, meaning mage and necro. It is always good to have a backup set of cloak/robe when wearing a luck suit, say in doom if you run out of regs. VERY helpful

Ok, thanks to both for the answers and I have a followup question.

Can you just keep them in your inventory to use them so you can keep the luck suit on? Even though I have never used nor understood them, my tailor used to sell a few in his shop. Seems it was mostly boots.

You have to have them equipped to work, but you could leave them in your pack till you needed them if thats what you mean...

If I remember correctly, you do not need to be wearing them for them to work. Unless this has changed, I used to carry a few cloaks with me on my doom runs and they worked from my pack.

But if you wanted to keep your luck suit on, you could wear a cloak and boots and it wont hurt your luck suit one bit, assuming you are wearing the 95 luck robe, otherwise you can wear an arcane robe too...
