Is anyone more jerky in 2D?

I logged in for the first time in a week to go crash a Harrower and noticed 2D movement was acting a bit funny. It seems to be a bit more "jerky". I did a traceroute and am pining ~20 to Atlantic.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

*Added*

Well it looks like the "improvements" to Terathan Keep wrecked some of the look in the 2D client.

Re: Is anyone more jerky in 2D?

Actually I have noticed this in the last few weeks, I commented to my husband about it, he also thought 2D had slightly more lag than it used to have. It's definitely not our connection, we checked that first.

I have experienced significant loss of movement speed in 2d for the past year or so?

There seems to be no specific reason and everything has been checked.

Re: Is anyone more jerky in 2D?

The developers have most likely modified the movement code for Kingdom Reborn. I haven't played much in the past couple months so it would be impossible for me to pinpoint when it happened. But it is very noticeable for me.

Re: Is anyone more jerky in 2D?

I don't like to think about it that way, but you may be right, the first time my husband commented on 2D 'feeling laggy', but not actual lag, was a few days after that first big patch when KR was launched. So that would mean it has been like that for quite a while. It wasn't just us who commented on 2D not being quite right, a few of our guild also mentioned this. I know exactly what you mean by 'jerky'.

Welcome to UO Forums tinjay

I have been using both clients. So I really haven't noticed 2D being jerky. I will pay closer attention and see what happens.

2d has always been laggy for me, that is why I used to play 3d only.
However, 2d these days, well the background seems to shift by the tile instead of flow movement, at least since 3d died.

Wonder if they're purposely making 2D unplayable so people will switch to UOKR, heh
Didn't someone on Stratics say Mythic admitted to doing that for one of their other games?

I dunno if they admitted to that or not, though the accusation was made.

Though I admit I suggested they do just that, if they wanted KR to fly. LOL

I guess this confirms it isn't just me. That is exactly what I am seeing. Instead of the landscape, trees, houses, etc. flowing when you move, they seem to jump pixel to pixel. It is extremely subtle, but I can see it and it bothers the hell out of me.
