![]() | Re: Anyone Else Have This Problem Do you have current Device Drivers installed? Sometimes, a driver can cause what your describing. Make sure the ones you have installed are correct and up-to-date. Like for your video card, audio, and sound. Did you add any new components to your computer? ![]() | Re: Anyone Else Have This Problem normally you shouldn't need to change any firewall settings. But you can find that info in the Support site of EA if I remember well. *edit* http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...i=&p_topview=1 ![]() "If deathrobes were bank checks... I'd be filthy rich!" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Anyone Else Have This Problem well, what do you mean "it shuts you down" lately I've noticed something, which I've been meaning to post on stratics........ .. .. ... . anyho, I noticed that when I start UO and I'm on the login screen, UO eats up a LOT of system resources. I run a quad core 2.4 system with 4 gigs of ram and a XP 64 bit edition, when I play UO, it uses about 10-12% of my CPU's (total), and thats with other standard stuff running.. icq, browser, winamp, whatnot. But when I'm on the login screen - it runs above 25%, and always nearly maxes out one CPU, but it uses all my CPUs erratically. So: game uses twice as many system resources when on the login screen where nothing happens = something is messed up. |

![]() | Re: Anyone Else Have This Problem I'm sure things are happening, although we don't see them. I would imagine this is where the network functions start firing up in order to contact the login server and the shards. Also, there is latency tests starting to give your connection percentages on the shard list. The patching process is probably also in the process of shutting down, so that may be part of the reason more resources are being used at that particular time. ![]() ![]() |
