Any reason why faction stone won't work?

I tired to joiin Council of Mages, but the sign up stone for that faction wouldn't operate when i dbl clicked it. iI dbl clicked it so many times I'd get the warning that I had to wait a few moments to perform another action.

Can faction leaders set the stone to not accept any new recurits?

The stone you want to double click once you join the Council of Mages is in the Felucca Magacina Parliament Building. I believe you are clicking on the sign up stone.

that's my point. It won't let me sign up and non-faction chars are bounced back by the invisible barriers.

The faction signup stone you want is in the town, outside the invisble barrier. If it wont let you join up then, faction membership is full and you have to wait for someone to resign.

Well, anyway, today I signed up with a different character from the same account. It seems the stone was bugged yesterday for some reason.
