![]() ![]() ![]() | Any advise regarding the event? So, those of you who have participated in the event already - any advise for us europeans who still have nearly 10 hours to wait? What to expect? What kind of monster? What Slayer Weapons to bring? Any templates that definately stand no chance? Can I loot my corpse or do they explode as with the harrower? Any special items to be obtained? And if, how? Use group tactics or is it too chaotic and better every man for himself? Come on people, gimme some info! At least once I wanna be prepared ![]() And no, obviously I don't mind spoilers ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? It was a lagfest on Great Lakes. The only temps that didn't work too well were mages, as the lag meant 6 second casting which meant you were dead. The monsters are dark wisps, fetid essences, and the things that spawn with Lord Oaks. They're the toughies. A fair amount are blackrock infected, which makes them doubly tough. We hung in a loose group just fine. It was simply a case of too damn many people. Maybe if EA did events more often you wouldn't lag like we did. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? Horribly laggy on Atlantic as well. For the first hour or so, there was literally a 12 second delay on everything. I brought an archer with healing and was able to avoid death even through the lag, aside from once. Don't forget to loot anything that you participate in killing. There are some special items that may fall on your instance of the corpse as loot. (Due to the lag, it sure would have been nice if the items would just fall into your backpack, but no such luck). A lot of the storyline is presented via conversations that happen near the blackrock detector, so if you aren't close enough to see them, you'll miss the story. (I'd have liked to see EA use something like communication crystals so that everybody in the vicinity could see the conversations in their chat boxes or journals, but again, no such luck). Early on, if there are a lot of tamers with dragons, you might suggest that the mages invis the dragons so that everybody can see what is happening. That worked well on Atlantic, until everything got crazy.

![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? conversations? What Conversations? We waited (On Lake Surperior for 45 minutes past the start time for Draconi to come and say "Wow, 246 people here" and then left. half hour later he returned said "I won't keep you waiting" and everything started Spawning. We waited an hour and 15 minutes extra for it to Start, it was Nuts for about 20 minutes till everything died, then most of us got teleported out to some random place, Gated back to the REAL moonglow and then it was chaos trying to get back into the Black Moongate. Then we finally all got back in. for about 45 minutes nothing spawned. Then a Shadow lord said "Follow us or Perish" a Time lord showed up, a Shadow Lord Etheral showed, we killed it.. 45 more minutes of nothing.....I ended up leaving mostly because I was bored out of my mind.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? well take plenty of bandages, potions because you can not leave for the first round of the event. the spawn has to be beaten back enough to spawn the timelord and shadowlords to open the rift in moonglow then you can come and go as you please. you need to check the corpses of what you kill/get looting rights on becuase that where the items are, except if/when you kill a ethereal shadowlord suppose to be top 3 damagers have a chance of a drop from them. also take chivarly or bushido archers and tamers for the win, these characters were doing the most damage to the spawn.

My Mood: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? Really is quite sad that this is the BEST Ea/Mythic can come up with as far as an event goes Quite frankly, it's pathetic. It's almost like ONE person is running the whole show and it's ALWAYS in a small, confined area, which is going to cause a ton of lag for all taking part Why couldn't they build the "detector" in multiple towns, or one per facet to spread the load out a bit? I mean really, how much are these guys getting paid? They never seem to learn from their previous mistakes, even after TEN years.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? what is even sadder, imo, adam is the fact that draconi had to make several hotfixes while the event was going on: 1) ethereal shadowlords were not dropping cloaks 2) doors in the alternate moonglow could not be opened sad really since this is the exact event that was on test about year ago, and many of the same problems were there, you would think they would have fixed everything in a year before it went live.

There was a ton of spawn in the buildings, but we couldn't open the doors to get at it. People were posting of the same troubles on Stratics, and I'd already been hanging around for close to 3 hours... (started about a half hour late on Atlantic, so we were 2 1/2 hours into the event)... time's up. Goodnight. Blah. The polite version of my description of my experience: it was a colossal waste of time.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Any advise regarding the event? it is rather confusing for something they have had nearly a year to work on. disappointed? no, why? I did not hope that EAMythic had finally gotten their stuff together. You would think they would learn. At any job I have ever had, with performance like this, I would be seeking a new job. After p(l)aying for ten years I know what to expect from them. This event did nothing but set up the next part in May. the story needed to be clearer, I do not need it all spelled out, but I need clues that lead to the answers. Oh, well I am going to go back and collect what I can, most people are not even looting anymore, less than 24 since the event started here on Lake Superior. I have already gotten 20 dark wisp paragon chests, no one is taking them, easy gold/gems.
