Anyways, i bought UO 8th edition and noticed it came with a free 'advanced character token', yet i've been unable to figure out the details to it, what it gives, and how to use it. The most i can find out is that it runs off the registration code of the product.

If anyone has any information or links that can further explain this, please let me know.

Ok, to claim your token (and all of your other tokens that come with the 8th age) login to the game, click help on your paperdoll, then click Enter Promotional Code (or something like that). Once that gump comes up, enter the code, and the tokens will be placed into your backpack.

Now, what is available to you option wise to choose from when you use your Advanced Character token?This site is your best bet.

and i used to play a long time ago (had a mace fighter/healer, and a mage) Any suggestions on which template would be best in reference to PvM? Which skill set would be the most 'valuable' in terms of saving me time and money of working up the skills?

I was leaning towards a warrior with archery/healing/mace/anat/tactics/resist and 1 more (chivalry?)

The cheapest way to go is Paladin with a wep skill. Maybe ninja. But i love tamers myself..... but they are pretty dang hard to develop.

Pallies are the easiest to train up and pretty damn good PvMers... tamers and bards are also very good.. tamers are probably the most effective (i can't say for sure ive never had the patience to train one)... but they are very time consuming and pretty boring to train..

I agree with the pallie..They seem to be easier to develop and are pretty decent at pvm...after ya build your template up ya might want to think on addin Bushido as well. just my opinion hehe

Use it on a tamer, cause it will get you pretty much in the game right away. I know my tamer took almost a year to build to true legendary tamer from an adv char token. I HATED DOING IT!!!! My pali swordsman was built up from scratch and it was fun doing it. I wouldnt want to lose that experience.

If you are ever planning on making a tamer, i would use the token for it. I built my tamer from scratch (literally 0 skill when i started) and it took me nearly 1 1/2 years just to Gm Taming. So using the advanced token will drop off about 8 months of training You can make a pally from scratch and train him up fully in about a week or less. The decision is yours, my opinions are mine. Use what you can, ignore what you cant. Good luck.

do a Tamer get jewery take u to gm , and you are ready to kill most any monster in game . after of coarse you track down some pets .What shard u choose ill help if u on atlantic..
