Re: 8th Age Anyone interested Read

@#%@#!! I was thinking of buying from them as they lowered the price even more to $14.99, but decided to put it off. I absolutely despise paying tax on items bought on the Internet when more often then not the item is shipped from out of state. So seeing as how this was still the best price around even with tax I was moments away from ordering it on Saturday, but decided to wait until Sunday night to order it since I figured the order wouldn't be reviewed until Monday.

So I go there tonight and what should I see? The price has now increased to the MSRP of $19.99. Amazon has gone from one of the best prices around (even better if ordering multiple copies with the free shipping on orders over $25) to nothing special and not worth ordering from any more. I was planning on getting maybe 2 or 3 copies from them, definitely 1, but now I won't be ordering any from Amazon.

Now I've got to find some place else to buy from. So far I've come up with BSR Media as the cheapest price including shipping/tax. I was reluctant to buy from them as I couldn't find any reviews of them, but then I found their ebay store and saw they had a 99.7% rating so I figure I'll give them a try.

That is a whole lot of money on my end. lol And I don't get anything that is useful for me that I can see. I have no house to place anything, and no characters with enough skill to transfer to another character...
I laughed when I saw that EA made this anniversary package to appeal to potential new customers. It looks all glamorous and will probably get a few people since they have no idea what the items are and just see that it is a $70 value.

If I were a new player I would just purchase Mondain's Legacy. The 8th age items are a great value for existing players, but absolutely worthless for new players. The only thing a new player could have any use for would be the gifts and 45 days free (fountain of life, quiver, music box, etc.) but that is hardly worth ~$19.99. The 8th age package would come in very handy should someone new to the game decide to keep playing, but if they don't then they spent $19.99 on basically nothing. Why take a gamble on this when it isn't sure if you'll continue to play and not having these items won't make the game any less fun.

For new players; save your money, skip 8th age, and just buy Mondain's Legacy.

Actually a new player might benefit greatly from the advanced character that comes with the 8th age.

Would you pay $20 for a soulstone though? Or is it 15$ now?

Ah yes, I suppose that could come in handy for someone new. Still though unless they have $$ to burn it would IMO be best to just get ML. Unless the person likes to sell, then 8th age could be a good investment. The new player could sell the items for gold in-game or $ on ebay and get alot of the price of the game back, maybe even all of it, and possibly more. If they don't mind the hassle of selling and don't mind researching how much they should get for the items then 8th age would be a great thing to get.

It's about $18 now. Why not? It's not just for a soulstone either. Besides SE cost $29.99 and all you got was access to SE, a soulstone fragment, and if pre-ordered, a soulstone. 8th age comes with all of that, minus the fragment, plus more and doesn't require a pre-order. And for ~$10 less at that.

Re: 8th Age Anyone interested Read

Only reason I really bought was the stone and keeping my collection of at least one of every box going.

What can I say I'm a simple guy.
