I just dl:ed the uogold free trial - eager to install it I doubleclick, wait for 5 mins before it finally comes around to start the unpacking - then it tells me I dont have enough space on drive C: (I chose to install it on my H: drive with 23 GB free space).

I tried three times and get the same result - "You dont have enough space on drive C: to continue installation..."

So basically if I dont have atleast 2 gigs free on my system drive (i have 1.3) I cant install the game???

Excuse me for saying: That sux!


Why the heck does it choose by default to be unpacked to the system drive?? I have my system on a smaller drive so it doesnt mess with anything (I never install stuff on that drive, it just has Windows on it).


Is there any way around this???

Do you know anybody that has the game on CD to install directly off of? I don't know of any way to tell the compressed download file to unpack to a different drive. (I haven't heard of a way, anyway).

Did you try copying the compressed file to your H: drive, and then double clicking it to unpack it? Maybe it would unpack to whatever drive it is stored on. (For example, if you've got it on C: and are trying to unpack it with the intent to install to H:, maybe move the compressed file to H: and start the unpacking/installation from there).

You may have already tried that... just brainstorming...

Otherwise if Kitiara's suggestion doesnt work I am sure some one like Adam,Ezekiel or one of the other brainboxes will have an idea to help you

I have the file on a separate drive so its not on C: and Ive even tried burning the file and starting it from the CDdrive - same result.

Im from Sweden Tabbitha (played UO back in 98 but on a free shard for a few years). Wanted to see if I could get the good old UO-feeling back since its probably the game I liked the most as a whole.

Well anyway I hope someone can help me out with my problem.

Im a swede to answer that question. Played UO back in 98 (was on a free shard for a couple of years, only bad thing was they closed it so everyone lost everything =p)

Anyway Im thinking a bit about returning to the fun times with UO so it was a bit disappointing to run into this lil problem Im having.

Ive even tried burning the file and still its the same thing.

Any technocrat out there that can solve it?
