It's been a long time since I've played, probably 2001 or so, and I know a lot has changed since then. I'm pretty sure that I want to play on Siege Perilous though.

I wanted to know how reasonable it would be to try a jack of all trades character instead of a 7xGM style character. I'd like kind of a battle rogue character. Can I get by limiting my character in some skills to only level 70 (like hiding, lockpicking, etc.) so that I can spread my skills around some.

Also, how's the game doing now?

Horribly. It's pretty much WoW with more flowers to keep the japanese happy.

I have been on Siege the past 3.5 yrs *plus Chesapeake* since back in the day.

If you with to try Siege please know that many pvpers are scrolled out to 120s in 5 skills or so. Many are in factions whom pvp. There are atm basically 3 large alliances of guilds, with their primary fighters in factions.

The population there has had a very strong sense of community, course lately it has been more board pvp whom dis'in whom in which alliance which guild which faction. The biggest gripe many of them have are stealthy tamers who use their pets to pk pvp etc.

Template questions pvp etc. you would probably get lots of responses on Siege Stratics forum.

There is a guild on Siege called NEW..it is for *immigrants* ie new to Siege players but not new to UO. It is only for 30 days it as a guild assists players to get to know guilds there, guilds donate items to NEW, and oft some of these items help the newer arrivals be it simple leather armors, crafting tools for aspiring crafters etc. sometimes even some lower end pwr scrolls.

If ya haven't played in quite a while, ya may want to make a chr. on your regular shard first get used to all the things that have been added since ya left before ya trot off to try Siege. It may be a lot to absorb just to get caught up.

Many still play in 2D, they got rid of 3D they added KR client which many customers of uo still, don't like yet............ etc.

If you have not played since 2001, you have several *expansions* full of changes to get to learn about Necros/ Paladins/ the Samurai Ninja/ & foo foo elves and more. Good luck with whatever ye decide or try to do...and good luck getting caught up too.

They are gone now, but we had a wonderful guild of rogue taxmen on Siege...highway men I do miss them. They combined roleplaying and demanding taxes, or after they speak to ye asking for taxes and ye not pay em..well ye may end up a very dead corpse on the roadsides.

TAX guild formerly of Siege, was one of the coolest guilds of rogue highway men/women but they left sadly onto other realms. We also had once SBH Siege Bounty Hunters, contracts for a fee you too can have someone exterminated !

They are gone now from Siege too. *sigh*

Ya have to register but after that you can post on there and also the co gms which change can also get you upon the NEW guild's guild stone.

NEW guild house is north of BRIT in a big keep. There be some dark wisps on occassion that fly up there *they kinda fatal* Siege specific originally. Comically when I was new there I think them stupid dark wisps killed me more than any pk, I thought they were the innocent shadow wisps........OoOO wrong.
