Under ordinary circumstances the Governor would pay little mind to the likes of Imaa Doolittle but due to the fact that Rachael had not been seen by anyone in some time he was willing to pay the wench her price to recieve the message she had concerning the wereabouts of Rachael.
Upon giving Imaa her 1000 pieces of gold and sending her out of his office the Governor opened the parchment and begin to read the message.

Dear Gover'n
While gathering resources within the woods to the west of the walls a few weeks ago I happened to notice Rachael wandering about and decided to follow her without her noticing me (most likely in an attempt to catch Rachael unaware and waylay her he thought)
she appeared to be gathering herbs and such when all of a sudden she stopped and looked around,I thought perhaps she had noticed me,but then she leaned down and picked up what from the distance I was at from her an object that appeared to be an old bracelet which she looked at closely, then looked around and quickly placed the object within her apron pocket,I continued to observe her unnoticed and it was only a matter of a few minutes that Rachael stopped and appeared to be almost in a trance of some sort,,i saw her reach into her pocket and take out this bracelet as though admiring it and then she suddenly placed it upon her arm and quite suddenly fainted and fell to the ground.
Being a caring and conciderate person I went to her side to see if I could aid her and found her in a strange trance like state and answering as though some unknown person were speaking to her.
I saw the bracelet upon her arm and realized there was a strange gem that was glowing set within it.
Of course my first thought was to remove this evil talisman from her arm to relieve her from this odd trance (yea sure,more likely just to relieve her of something you saw as of value)
I no sooner began to reach down when Rachael's eyes opened wide and her whole being began to flicker in and out of the very likeness of Mariah the BlackRose.
What form of sorcery was this I thought? and being in great fear of what i was seeing made haste to the nearest tree to conceal myself.
When I felt I was hidden enough I quickly looked back to see that Rachael had stood up and was walking towards the path in some strange trance which I have never witnessed before.
Being just a poor defenseless girl and in fear of my safety I began to run as fast as i could to get away from this evil magic.
I would of brought this to your attention sooner but I was scared for my life and waited until I was fairly certain that I had not been seen.
I hope that this information helps you to discover the whereabouts of poor Rachael.

Imaa Doolittle

Well normally the Governor would pay little attention to anything that this Imaa Doolittle had to say but the fact that she demanded payment for the message made the Governor place more importance upon it.
He did not trust this Imaa but in the past whenever she demanded payment for information the information had proven out to hold truth.
This was rather disturbing news and he would have to look into it.
Knowing that Mariah was being held in Yew Prison he would make arrangements to go and question her about this.
If Mariah was somehow involved in the disappearence of Rachael then it could not be good.

The Governor took his quill and began to scribe a message to Grand Marshal Rick of the Royal Guard in order to make arrangments to go and question the prisoner Mariah on this matter.

So he thought to himself,,it was gold well spent to obtain the information from Doolittle.
How Mariah had created such an illusion as to make Rachael appear as a likeness of her was beyond his understanding of sorcery,the important thing was Rachael has been freed from the prison cell and was home,,he just hoped it did not have any lasting negative effects upon the poor girl.

Making a promise to himself that he would make Mariah pay dearly for putting an innocent citizen through such a hardship,he returned to his charts and maps and his planning to raid the pirate stronghold of Buc's Den very soon so that these pirates don't get to feeling to comfortable thinking they can come out and raid and then slip back into Buc's Den unmolested.

The thoughts of Rachael and what she went thru, reminded me of the evil that magic can do.

*shutters* at remembering the evil I saw and felt.
Remembering how Jackson was affected by his ordeal.
