Crafting Question

I just starting playing LOTRO and I love it (7 lvl Dwarf Champion).

The tricky thing I haven't figured out is introductory crafting. Namely, how do I get the tin and iron ores initially to make bronze? I've searched the various merchants but I don't see any for sale. I've been offered some to complete quests, but they involve me crafting something which I don't know how to do. Please help!

Re: Crafting Question

You need to mine Coppar deposites and Tin deposites..

You got a skill called prospector right? also a pickaxe?

Then its about collecting these 2 and then melting them toghter.

Also around Bree too.

Re: Crafting Question

You might also want to take a look under your skills tab. There you should find a couple called either (depending on your crafting skill setup) :

Track Mines, (prospecting)
Track Wood, (forestry)
Track Treasure, (burglar thing)
Track Crops, (cooks)
Track Relics. (scholars)
Or something similar.

If you slot these into your quickbar and use them, then you'll get a nice little arrow on your map pointing to where and what resources (mines) that are nearby you.

Personally, I find that the Ered Luin starting area is very empty for beginning level craft resources. It truly is better to go into the Shire or Bree to find those Tin & Copper resources. (and wood)

Once you've acquired your resources you will need to find a crafting area that has either workbenches, forges, ovens and so on. Then as long as you have the right tools equipped you can melt your ore into ingots, or treat your wood, or whatever. Farming is different as you must find a field for that (again, start in shire).

hope this helps. For a better explanation go to this link: http://lotro-wiki.com/index.php/Crafting
It has more info than what I can put in a single post here.
