It's been a year (and one week!) since LOTRO was released to one of the most successful launches in MMO history. With the additions of free content updates Books 9 - 13, the game is better than ever!



To thank our players and celebrate LOTRO's success over the past year, for the next few weeks players will find special tokens throughout Middle-earth! These items can be exchanged to barter NPCs for gift boxes containing random special gifts like potions, crafting items and recipes, and cosmetic clothing! These tokens are available to all players and are bind-on-acquire. Freeps and Creeps in the Ettenmoors can play too!

FAQ:



Q: Where can I find the tokens?

A: Tokens are found as loot on mobs throughout Middle-earth. The level of the token is dependent on the level of the mob the token was found on.



Q: Can I trade the items or prizes?

A: Tokens are bind-on-acquire. The gift boxes are bind-on-acquire, but their contents are not.



Q: What level do I have to be to play?

A: You can be any level! Tokens are broken out into 5 "level bands" for Free Peoples - 1-10, 11-21, 22-32, 33-42, and 43-50. Monster players have one token available to them, since they're all level 50.



Q: How long will the tokens be available?

A: The tokens will drop from mobs until 17th June!



Q: Where do I turn the tokens in?

A: Tokens can be bartered to special barter NPCs. They are:

Bree: Emma Bywood

Rivendell: Digloriel

Glân Vraig: Anhebron

Gramsfoot: Thrak



Q: When will the event end?

A: Due to delays with the release of Book 13, the Anniversary in-game event will be extended till 17th June, 2008.
