![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lotro: Book 12 Available for Pre-Patch/Download IMPORTANT NOTE: You should only use this downloadable patch if your LOTRO client is already patched up to BOOK 11! If your client is not patched up normally to BOOK 11, launch your LOTRO client and let it patch up normally. Then use this downloadable patch to update to Book 12. We're pleased to offer the downloadable patch for Book 12! This patch will update clients from Book 11 to Book 12. New players will still need to go through the normal patching process - this patch will only work for those whose clients are current as of today (February 11, 2008). It will not work for Roheryn. The downloadable patch means you can download it and patch your client before the update goes live on the servers, saving you time when they come back up. It also means you can download the patch on a computer that you don't have LOTRO installed on (i.e. your work computer), transfer the patch to a disk or device, and then run it on the computer with a LOTRO client to update it. The downloadable patch is approximately ~600mb. Once you've downloaded and installed it, your client will only need to apply the patch when the servers open with Book 12. If you'd like to download the client using a bittorrent client, click here for the .torrent! Turbine recommends µTorrent to download the patch; you can find more information on µTorrent here. More download sites will be posted as they become available. Feel free to distribute the file to others as well! IMPORTANT NOTE: This file will ONLY patch the North America/AU/NZ version of the LOTRO client. If you try to apply it to the EU version, you'll get an error message. -Meghan "Patience" Rodberg - Online Community Manager - The Lord of the Rings Online Why would I use a downloadable patch? The main reasons one would use the downloadable patch are: • Significantly less overall patching time when major patches to LOTRO occur • Patches become easier to download for those with slower internet connections When a major LOTRO patch is released, there are two steps to updating a user’s LOTRO client. The first step is downloading the patch, and the second step is applying the patch to the LOTRO client. By using a downloadable patch to download the patch before it goes live, overall patching time is significantly decreased, as once the major patch goes live, all that will need to be done is to apply the previously downloaded patch to the LOTRO client, rather than download the patch and then apply it to the LOTRO client. Do I have to use a downloadable patch? Not at all. It will still be possible to patch the LOTRO client without the use of a downloadable patch. However, we recommend using the downloadable patches to minimize your overall patching time. The patch is 614mb and you can thank the Elves for sharing this information with you. See you Creeps in the Ettenmoors. Maddux ![]() ![]() Last edited by Maddux; 11th February 2008 at 08:50 PM.. |
