Question Kicking it off?

Hi,

I believe there is a mutual interest between CK (ATD) and I to have our guild's interact with one another. Because being "Bad" with no "Good" to oppose you is boring, and I assume it's true vice versa.

So the Question is What kicks it all off? Why do they become adversaries?

ATD is based in Dragon's Watch (Fel). The 13th is based on Sanctuary Island (Tok).

What would cause the two groups to cross paths, let alone swords? My toon LH has a history of letting others be....as long as the don't get in his way or directly oppose him. What could he do or be after that would draw ATD's attention?

I know of one way to get information to CK, for Kegan the Mad is not a member of the 13th, though he does live on the island (I wrote a story to explain Kegan's situation but lost it before I could get it on the forum), Kegan lost a wager/fight with LH and the price he has to pay is being Havok's Champion in the pit-fights. If he becomes the Grand Champion at the end of the year he earns his freedom.

A while back, before all this occured, Kegan offered to help assist the Pax Statehood on missions that CK (Then Minister of Defense?) was assigning. So the two have briefly met.

But for me it still comes down to what logical event would take place to draw the attention of both parties to one another?

Anyone have a good idea?

Thanks,

Re: Kicking it off?

Hmm, Well Dragons Watch now has a Port with ships moored there. You are an island nation. Perhaps the shipping of smuggled goods or contraband thru the Port? Or conflict on your use of the Port to have the 13th Legion access the mainland.?
Just some quick thoughts.

Re: Kicking it off?

An old school barter on trade is reason enough to have conflict, I agree silver.

Havok I think we can do some fun stuff for both our guilds by workiing togetehr to get something like this started. I have not been around much this week because they changed my off days, I know have weekends off(yay!!) but at the price of having to wrok eight days in a row to kick them off, drop a battle with the flu on top of that and most of my free time has been spent on the couch praying to die heh.

We also have a website for ATD and DW now and you and your guild are always welcome there.

Re: Kicking it off?

CK, I hope your feeling better and thanks for the invite to your guy's site, I checked it out when it was first done and I think it's great!

Is ATD a defender for just DW, or the entire Pax Statehood? The CoS would like to go after the books of sin, which I think are mostly in Pax cities and the museum of virtues. If havok made a threat towards the statehood, or a citizen of the statehood, i.e. "give us the book(s) or else", would that be enough to draw the two guilds against one another?

One other idea I had, but its kind of a stretch, was a storyline I started but had to put on hold right away "the 3 bodies found at defiant point", I was going to have havok killing off workers & sailors that had helped build his new home on the Island. We could have a few more ships disappear and have one be tied to DW somehow.

I don't know, I think just a veiled threat against the statehood could lead to some interesting interaction between our guilds that can escalate over time.

Re: Kicking it off?

ATD is mainly a defender of DW but being a pax hood city it can and will call arms to defend any city in the statehood

Your other ideal sounds fun too

Re: Kicking it off?

If you'd like to go with the ship idea that would make it more directly between ATD & the 13th, which might simpfly things. Instead of having all our eggs in one basket it might be nice to have two or more on going events.

I'm pretty sure the USN would be up to the task of finding another vessal or 2...we would just need the name of the sailor/captain that is familiar with DW
