![]() | Character Stories I've been looking and maybe it that i'm rushed (have a 2 year old on lap who thinks it's funny to hit buttons) or i'm just not looking in the right spot but is there a place to post character stories? I have been trying to get ppl to collect their character stories, not just in game but out of game as well. Thought would be great for later years too. Some wonderful stories out there wish i could reread and this keep them forever in our hearts and minds even if some retire from UO. I want to put out the short story i have for some of my chars as well. ![]() Remember my name, you'll be screaming it later... Obey my every wish, and i will be your slave... |

![]() | Re: Character Stories Just bumping this... I saw there a Character story in the 13th legion section, can we have one for eveyrone in this section? I have some chars i like to post stories in and thought might kind of get a history of RP'rs on Chessy going in game and out! So if anyone wants to write in a book in game their char stories or any RP related stories as i'd like to gather some of them for a library (especially those of the darker inclination!) ![]() Remember my name, you'll be screaming it later... I think mine have been out over a year. I do not care for RP out of game personally, because then why pay to play? Or.....why redo the same in 2 places? ![]() ![]() |

![]() | Re: Character Stories Well some of mine are long and wont fit in the UO books... That why post the longer stories here. As for the books in game, that good knew someone had it, but want to encourage some of the "darker" stories. ![]() Remember my name, you'll be screaming it later... ![]() | Re: Character Stories Well either or, i was thinking a forum on here for the very long or detailed stories (even the ones that are ongoing still). As for in game stories, would love to see more of those, copies will go to the official Library ran by Hester, but i was hoping to spin some stories off some of the more darker stories in the future. ![]() Remember my name, you'll be screaming it later... ![]() | Re: Character Stories Example... this is the first few chapters about Allana, an original vampyre who has been missing for some time now. Her story as you see is not finished and quite long but i have chapters spread out and am making it into a novel. I also have one about Zarsheiy and Mistress Sin In The Beginning It was a world made up of power. Knowledge was thirsted after almost as much as blood was. There were signs of war all over, the cries of the starving and tortured, the silver of the swords that even petty farmers carried, and the fear in everyone's eyes as the dusk settled and shadows came to rule. It was a war of vampires and the lines were clearly drawn. Those that were merciless, killing all for pleasure and amusement. For them, there was nothing sacred or safe, of any race or age, be they even kindred. Whole cities would fall into their trap, welcoming the seduction of complete debauchery and immorality. That is until the time for payment came, their blood flowing in the streets as vampires let lose thier own style of hunger reign. Then there were those that respected the need for retaining life. The necessity for rules to govern those of our kind, and the limitations that must be placed on the hunger lest it rule ourselves as it ruled those who were weaker. Awoken I woke up slowly, scanning my surroundings before i even opened my eyes. I felt nothing. An emptiness, which was unusual, for not even the earthworms burrowed in the earth around me. I smelled blood, old blood, tortured blood, and that is what startled me enough to open my eyes. It was pitch black, a complete absence of light, and yet i felt my eyes slowly adjusting, everything took on shape, though the color was still a washed out gray. But it was the bodies that caught my attention, dozens of them, laying about me, pale in their death. Some seemed to be screaming still, their eyes filled with horror and their fingers curved into claws. I should have been scared, but oddly, i was dissappointed. I was hungry, a deep ache that only intensified. There was a single door in the wall, and above it, i could sense a ward that was weak, and could not keep me trapped in the room any longer. It was dark outside, and the woods called to me. I left the cave behind, and walked a ways, sensing life calling to me. There before me were tents, spread out but abandoned, but still i searched. I heard whimpering, and followed it to the child hidden under a cot. Small and shivering, the girl child looked at me with eyes that were glazed with her fear. I smiled to reassure her, and her eyes widened with yet more fear. I reached down to comfort her, and before i even touched her, she fainted away in my arms. She was so light and tiny as i carried her outside and into the woods. I could feel her blood beating in her veins. Could hear her heart pumping that life through her, and my mouth watered. I licked my lips, staring at her neck, her little neck that was so open for the taking. I felt my teeth then, which startled me from my hunger. Sharp pointed teeth on the inside of my top jaw. How curious, they were near the back, where no one would see them or notice them till it was too late. I was frightened then, not for me, for my hunger made me dangerous to those around me. The little girl laying there so peaceful in my arms. Perhaps her parents had died, and she had no one left. No one to notice her missing, her small corpse drained of life in the woods... I lifted my arm and ran my fingers along the top of her head, caressing her hair. She came awake with a start, eyeing me with an innocence i found intriguing. "Mama?", she whispered. Her mama was dead though, her blood drained from her body by my own hunger. Shivering with something other than cold i ran as fast as i could. There was no escaping the hunger though, and soon i found others. They came willingly after a while, risking their death for just a moment in my arms. I gave them ecstasy, then darkness.... Chapter 1 Allana stretched, grimacing slightly as she discovered the dirt smudges that coated her gray dress on the hem. It was once white, before she was imprisoned so long ago. It was unheard of for an Ancient such as herself to fall prey to the curses and bindings of a human, yet she had. When she'd awoke it was to a whole new world, a world not governed by horror or bloodshed, a world where her kind were not even thought of as anything but myths and legends. It was a world that she was lost in. Allana was too honest with herself to not realize what a favor the old priest had done in binding her to that cave, her kind had died out and of all the Ancients she was the only one that she knew still existed. So much power to waste, Ancients such as herself had the ability to manipulate weather itself, call storms to them with a mere thought, to entrance often with their movements and voice alone, to change shape into any animal, even elements such as mist. So much lost... Reaching up to her face, Allana was dismayed to find tears tracking down her cheeks. Another curse, and one that had changed her in so many ways. The ability to feel, not just those of bloodlust and boredom that her kind usually fell prey to, but real emotions. Those that were not natural in her kind, those of love and compassion, mercy and empathy and most horrible of all, guilt. Shuddering, Allana stood up from the stone altar she had been resting on. It had been four months since she’d woken up in that cold dead cave, and it was time she explored this new world. Stepping out of the tomb doors Allana surveyed her surroundings. An old cemetary, probably forgotten as it rested near the woods and quite a distance from a nearly diserted village. It was where she had escaped when she had been confronted by a crying wife at the site of Allana bending over her dead husband. She had felt guilty. Guilty! A new and strange emotion and one that had her stammering to the human women, before escaping out the door and fleeing to the woods. Such weakness! Allana cursed herself for letting the emotions get away with her, they should be so easy to control, she'd seen humans kill without a whim to impress her kind. Yet she was starting to feel guilty for the lives she took, the souls she'd destroyed. It wasn't to be borne! Shoving the unwanted thoughts from her mind, Allana looked toward the village, and without thinking began to jog towards it. Humans were so interesting to watch, she was addicted to them. Although they inspired a rush of emotion, she could not help but watch the families in their homes, the children in their dreams. It was something that created a yearning in Allana that could not be satisfied and for which she hungered for almost more than she did for blood. It was a small village, probably only a few hundred people lived there. Their small huts were mud and daub, the roofs thatch. The ocean could be seen over a hill, and the smell of the salt spray flavoring every breath Allana took. It was good to be alive again! Allana slowed her loping run to a slow walk, her arms unconsciously coming up to rub her arms as she experienced nervousness at being near humans again. Last time had not gone so well, she would have to be careful this time. She needed a guide, a familiar, someone who could tell her more about this world, and preferably not one she would have to spend a great deal of energy controlling, perhaps even someone she could turn... Chapter 2. The town was small, by the looks of it there were maybe only thirty people that lived there, all peasants, all just simple people with simple lives followed by simple deaths. Allana sighed, wondering what it would be like to not have the complication of longevity to not have to constantly be in control and aware of the danger that every stranger could possess. Shaking herself out of her unusual thinking, Allana moved slowly towards the village, her hunger glazing her eyes and her teeth lengthening of their own accord. Perhaps one taste, before she began her hunt for the one who would be not only her teacher, but her student as well. Allana clothed herself as those of her kind do, pulling from the very air around her and transforming her simple dirty dress into something more befitting a lady of the times. She needed someone open, with enough honor to not turn on her and to teach her the truth of the world, but enough wickedness to make things interesting. Allana had always liked to mix pleasure with business, and she was thankful her lustiness was not effected by her newfound need for mercy, it seemed in fact that it was even more powerful. It had been too long since she'd had a lover and Allana felt a twinge for the fact that of all her lovers had died by her own fangs. Someone strapping then, who could handle her roughness along with her eagerness. She sent her senses out, scanning for any danger or flair of emotion, she wanted someone who could belong to her, who perhaps be like the loving couple that still haunted her. Allana smiled, her first true smile without malice or cruelty and unbeknown to her it made her seem more human, perhaps even vulnerable. To be loved, not feared, it would be a change, but she had seen greater loyalty out of love than fear and had always been curious how to promote it, though before lacked the patience or empathy to inspire it. Allana moved into the village, most doors were closed, but you could hear men laughing and singing in the tavern. It was late, the only ones left would be those who did not have angry wives to go home to, or perhaps had wives they wished were not there to go home to. Either would suit her purpose, though Allana hated to dine on drunken blood, it always made her slightly intoxicated which was a weakness in her mind. Walking confidently up to the door, Allana paused before it to make sure she looked as human as possible, even messing up her hair some so she looked even more touchable. Making a few tears in the hem and smearing a little dirt on her him, she made sure to look like she'd had an incident in getting there. With her hair looking bed tumbled and hanging down her back, and her rumpled dress as low cut in the front as she dared, Allana opened the door, walking in already armed with a story about her horse running off without her and needing a room for the night. ![]() Remember my name, you'll be screaming it later... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Character Stories I agree, I think in-game fiction is an important bond in a UO community. A little write-up about your character would be something that I would love to see in the Abby's Guide because I want it to be used as a reference for people. Somewhere to "get the general gist". I started playing again after about a three year break; I've been back about 2 months & I still don't really know what's going on as far as the community goes. I know names but I don't know how they relate to each other & where their place is in the community. I can't even figure out if Gareth is the mayor of PaxOku. His character sheet on his paperdoll says he is but posts here say no.. is he rping? I have no idea!!! Anyway.. sorry... I digress.. For character stories... I think either use the RP forum here. OR start a chesapeake forum? By the way, I enjoyed the story! ![]() Last edited by Abby; 24th July 2008 at 05:50 PM. |
