Due to the small-scale nature of the Order, it will often be the case that recruitment is closed. When we wish for more Squires, we shall more than likely actively recruit good role-players, identified and hand-picked from the community directly. The easiest way to become identified as such a member is to assist the Order, and interact regularly with them; afterall, one does not need to be a Knight to offer their services to those who need them, in the name of Avatar.

Below the post of Squire, is that of 'Page', a new knight-student post open to public application and assessed on a trial period purely based on a subjective pass/fail merit, to allow the public to experience the Order, and to give those we may have overlooked, or never encountered in our role-play the chance to show us what they can do.

The application and retention process of the Order is very strict & narrow in order to ensure our member base forms a small-scale guild of high quality role-players. Following the application process below, players may create a Page character, essentially a student training to become a Squire. This character is a trial, judged on a subjective basis of simple pass/fail. Guidence will be offered to Pages, though pre-existing knowledge, ability, and intuition are highly preferred. Characters actively displaying what we're looking for may be offered the chance to become Squires, while those less fortunate will be informed of their progress, and terminated from the Page trials, returning to civilian life.

If you would like to apply to be a Page, please read through the sticky threads, and send an application complete with the following details to the hawk cage numbers listed below:

• Previous role-playing experience
• An outline of why you wish to join the Order
• Any relevant OOC knowledge pertaining to Knightly Orders
• List of all (if any) Ultima games played
• Player time-zone

After being told, you may create a character following the guidelines below:

• 1.) Characters must be caucasian Human Male, though skin pigments may be slightly tanned to reflect the grubby, hard-working nature of a Knight.
  
• 2.) Character names must be drawn from western Christian origin; please check with the GMs before creating your character to avoid disappointment; as characters with unacceptable names will not be permitted to join. Surnames may not be chosen.
  
• 3.) Character hairstyles must be short, preferably 'short hair' or less; longer hair tends to get in the way during combat. Hair colours must be natural. This shouldn't need too much explanation; though any discrepancies can easily be remedied with a 50gp hair dye.
  
• 4.) Pre-existing Characters may become Pages and Squires, so long as all the above criteria are met, and all dis-allowed skills are set to decline, and are not used upon recruitment.
