Making a Creep Army

Testing this concept here to tighten it up before taking it to the Creep forums. So give me input!-------------------

The idea is to create an Army of Creeps in the truest sense of the words and concept. This Army woudl be structured, have ranks and each rank would have specifically designed roles and responsibilities. [Like a real army]. Once this is set up and agreed hopefully those who buy into the idea will have a structured and hopefully fun life pvping in the Ettenmoors with a real reason to play - not just IP or DP but to become a part of an Army.

If you choose to sign up to take a part it seems to me you would need to be able to commit certain amounts of time to this project in order for it to succeed. So please think about it carefully.

The idea of ranks/leaders is that hopefully during any one peak time period [8-10pm uk time as a simple starting point] there will be organised a minimum or 2 raids workign in co-ordination to take and hold specific strategic points. And hopefully 1 further raid or loose co-allition of monsters roaming and harrying. These raids will be run by the Most senior Army member online at the time and control devolves down the chain. Its all pretty straightforward.
----------------------------
[more in a bit but does this make sense so far?]

Re: Making a Creep Army

Roles and Responsibilities

General/Tyrant [One/Two]

Has overall control over the strategy of the evenings battles/war. Would be expected to make sure there were 2 full raids of creeps at all times and to co-ordinate both. In the event of less numbers would be required to make ad-hoc plans as required.

Raid Leaders/Taskmasters [Four]

Be expected to lead the raids exactly as the Tyrant commands but also be able to use common sense if either opportunities to take keeps arise or unexpected attacks occur to fall back and report to the Tyrant. In the event that either of the Tyrants are unavailable one of the Taskmasters takes control of the Army.

Platoon Commanders/Maggot Herders [Sixteen]

Keep their groups intact and functioning. Act as admin to their raid leaders. Are expected to Raid Lead in the absence of the Task Masters. Should be raid assistants, healers, de-buffers and in general carry out the raid leaders commands and be prepared to charge or stand and die for the Army in general. These people really run the army and in times outside of peak time should practice raid leading.

Grunts/Maggots [infinate]

You do what everyone above tells you when they tell you. They say jump you say how high. Your scum. The lowest of the low. You do what your told.

Re: Making a Creep Army

I actually saw this yesterday..

Normally only the leader got a mark on their head.. but this raid had set one in each group as groupleader as well . It worked very well till it disbanded

But ive only seen it once...

Re: Making a Creep Army

I think its a good idea and a possible way forward.I dont mind what group I am in as long as they are listening to the 'leader'.

I get very irate when group members just do their own thing for points etc.

My other bone of contention is the poor healing in groups.

The above plan would spread out the classes and make for more effective raids.

Problem is when folk join/leave ,the raid leader would have to keep chopping and changing.

There would have to be a plan not to add more people until away from the fighting.

Re: Making a Creep Army

Good plan hope you can get enough willing/eager to join and follow strategies and directions! If it happens could be a whole new ballgame

Re: Making a Creep Army

Well I will have a think over the weekend.

It would actually be nice to implement the above as a role played thing where you could challenge your immediate officer and replace them if you beat them.

In fact the idea of a whole role played army of orcs is something I would love to see.

Im not sure Snowbourn is the place to do it though.

Also low morale in the creep ranks at the moment leads me to have less expectation of such a plan being looked upon kindly.

Will think on it more over the weekend - but please anyone feel free to give some input!

Re: Making a Creep Army

Yea i doubt this is the timing.. Alot of Warleaders these days dont do their job right.. they rather fight than heal.. Was even more of it today (Afternoon) well atleast i heard so.. i was duoing.

Its very irratating also at moment, so many joins a raid but dont ever listen to the leader.. If i join a raid, I stay by him all t he time.. do what he says.

Re: Making a Creep Army

imo the only way to get this to work would be to form grps/gang/guild whatever similiar to a UO RP guild. It would have to consist of members willing to fight together and listen to leadership. Pick-ups wouldnt work as all involved would have to know their role. Thus finding members, interviewing, and such would all take time to make it happen.

Re: Making a Creep Army

The only raids I tend to join are Isagubut's or Crashers as they are the only ones I have found who know how to properly lead a raid.

Even they have trouble getting folk to listen tho.

If it was up to me I'd kick those who didnt, and especially the ones who go off collecting stuff on the way back, instead of getting back to the raid in hand to help out
