About tonight's pit-fighting meeting...

Kegan has reluctantly gone over the details of tonights meeting with me. First I would like to once again Thank those that are participating.

Kegan mentioned the idea of using npc armor and weapons and while at first I was all for the idea let me share with you one reason we should not us npc equipment.

When I started thinking of the pit-fights I had a vision of the Lords and Ladys of the Council siiting up over a small arena watching their warriors fight it out to the death for mere sport.

To make it challenging, and more fair, cheaper even I thought of using just gm crafted gear. Also I had had my eye on this Kegan the Mad charcter who was working out of Cove at the time. Aye, this strange being who ONLY used gm crafted gear, no modified weapons, no arties, no jewelry, heck this madman doesn't even use runebooks but walks or rides everywhere.

Aye, this drunken lout was a good pertion of my inspiration, for if he can still fight monsters, and he can, then maybe just using gm gear would be viable for the pit-fights.

The second reason I wanted to use GM equipment is simple, really....I think there are some crafters out there they may actually miss just making some armor and weapons.

Fighting with old school equipment is a entertaining glimpse back on the years gone by, but our champions using player crafted gear is a even a deeper look back into our realms past.

The fights are supposed to be entertaining community event, my reccomendation would be gm crafted armor and weapons, iron only for armor and weapons, plain leather only for leather armor, bone armor w/no mods.

We could also see if there would be any interest in a monthly "Voulunter" Smith & Tailor.....I would supply the iron & leathers.

These are just my thoughts and if you others would like to stick with trying npc equipment I am fine with that.....though I do think we will miss an oppurtunity to meet some nice crafters, like Craiger.

Regards,

Re: About tonight's pit-fighting meeting...

I am good with the original GM armor idea, and I LOVE the idea of asking for monthly volunteers to make it for us.

Let's go with that for this month and if it doesnt work out to our liking then...well, we will change it at our whim for next time. *grins*
