Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance - Introduction & Mission Statement
The Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance - Introduction
"Know this, O Prince of the Shining Seas, that between the years when the oceans drank Ambrosia and her gleaming citadels, and the rise of the Sons of Augustus, there was an age undreamed of, when shining city-states lay spread across this world like blue mantles beneath the azure skies - Nu'jelm with its dark-haired women and dens of devilish delights, Moonglow with its hallowed mysteries and libraries full of ancient wisdom, Magincia with her damning pride, Luna with its shrewed tradesmen, Zento with its masked Empress and deadly assassins, Heartwood with her mysterious immortal guardians, and Dawn with her proud warrior-poets... But the proudest amongst these was Britannia, reigning supreme in the dreaming west! Hither came Lord Cantabrigian British, the Champion of White Light, red-haired and sullen-eyed, a sword in hand, a warrior, a prophet, a leader, with great wisdom and great sacrifice, he crushed the bejeweled thrones of Sosaria 'neath his sandaled feet. This, O Prince, is the story of those murderous fiends and blaspheming upsurpers who would shake mother Sosaria to her very foundations, and those brave few warriors who would heed her call and rise in its defense." - An excerpt from the Britannian Letters, a series of personal correspondences between Prince Galen Kai Ryu of New Luminate, and the historian Dominic al'Danzai, Dean of the New Lycaeum Last edited by WarderDragon; 26th March 2008 at 04:35 PM. |

Re: Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance - Introduction & Mission Statement
Introduction -
The Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance is a project that began on November 14, 2007. Our goal is to promote roleplaying and community-oriented events on the Shard of Baja. To Be Continued... Mission Statement - Under Construction. Our Goals - 1. To promote and encourage roleplaying and storytelling on the Baja Shard of Ultima Online. 2. To promote and encourage the creation of community-oriented events, whether they be roleplay-themed or not, on the Shard of Baja. 3. To facilitate an active and on-going dialouge between likeminded guilds, effectively breaking down barriers and allowing guilds to interact with one another. 4. To provide a unique backdrop for storylines and roleplaying events, based upon the Ultima Lore but uniquely tailored to Baja's individual flavor, allowing the individual contributions of its members to have a key influence in the storytelling. 5. To create an enviroment that facilitates immersive, on-going, and most of all enjoyable roleplaying. This will include an on-going, flexible storyline and backdrop that roleplayers can choose to participate in. 6. To help in the development of new roleplaying guilds, and the promotion of existing roleplaying, semi-roleplaying, and community-oriented guilds. 7. To help those who are interested in roleplaying, or those simply seeking to test the waters, come into a community that is easily accessable, fun to participate in, productive, and flexible. 8. To put our resources and skills togeather, building strength in numbers. Stronger, more powerful and well established guilds are far more capable of hunting high-end spawn than smaller guilds - therefore it is the goal of the community to assist those smaller guilds in hunts and champion spawns. 9. To put our resources to good use, in helping community organizers and groups who seek to develop events (whether they be in-character or out-of-character). The Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance is not only supportive of the roleplayers on the shard of Baja, but all guilds who seek to better the community through interaction and fun events. 10. To help new players become aquainted with the game, and in turn the shard of Baja. We shall do this by assisting new and returning players in learning the ropes, help in meeting the community and finding a guild that suits their playstyle and needs, and in our direct support of the Baja Welcome Brigade. 11. To have fun! Last edited by WarderDragon; 11th March 2008 at 11:40 PM. |

Re: Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance - Introduction & Mission Statement
Participation in the Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance -
There are a number of ways in which you can get involved in the Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance, and participate in our community. By Playing On Baja: If it just so happens that you are player on the Baja Shard, then in a sense, you are already a member of our community! The Baja Alliance was developed to be a coalition of likeminded players belonging to the Baja Community, for the betterment of Baja as a whole. Anyone is welcome to come along and participate, whether it be participating in an event, spontanous roleplaying with other roleplayers, or individual contributions to an event. Joining the Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance (Utility Stone): The BRPA Utility Stone was set up for two key reasons. One, of course, was to help facilitate the alliance of various roleplaying and event guilds under the Ultima Online guild/alliance system, with the BRPA Utility Stone at its head. The other is to be a stone in which roleplayers who are not part of another guild (and perhaps seeking one to join one) can sign up, get a roleplaying title custom to their individual character, and have direct in-game communication with all the BRPA allied guilds. People are welcome to join as a jumping off point to help them get introduced into the roleplaying community (and find a guild perhaps better suited to their needs). People are also welcome to join if their characters happen to not fit into any existing guild for some reason, and yet wish to enjoy the benefits of a title and in-game communication tools. The only requirement for joining is that you be a respectful representative of the BRPA, especially because our tag is floating about your character, and your actions would reflect on the guild as a whole. Of course, I do not expect people to be in-character all the time or never make a mistake, but you should be respectful and follow the UO Terms of Service. Anyone who is found to be a trouble maker will be immidiately ejected from the guild, pending further investigation. An Official Alliance: Roleplaying and/or Event-Oriented Guilds are offered and encouraged to join the Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance. An official alliance through in game methods is not a requirement of guilds to be part of the alliance, although it does convey certain benefits (such as communication with other roleplaying guilds). Of course, we understand that there are a number of reasons (including faction status, war status, or previous alliances) that prevent your guild from being part of the alliance, therefore we offer Unofficial Alliances. I also will add that I do not anticipate any problems, but guilds that are not in good standing with the community will first be considered by existing members of the community. While we are fairly open to all, we do not want to invite guilds in that might take advantage of membership. This is to prevent existing allies from being griefed in any manner. If a member of the BRPA alliance is killed by another member of a different guild, and the event appears to be an act of griefing rather than roleplay-motivated, the guild in question will be temporarily removed from the alliance with an pending investigation. No guild will be removed from the alliance or punished in any manner for the action of an individual guild member, but preventative measures will be taken to ensure that being part of the alliance is a safe and enjoyable experience for our roleplayers. An Unofficial Alliance: If you are already a part of an alliance and/or some other game mechanic prevents your guild from joining the Baja Roleplaying & Event Alliance, you can still become part of the BRPA. We here at the BRPA understand that there are guilds who wish to roleplay and get involved, but have other alliances or commitments. Therefore, if you wish to join the alliance, simply contact me (either through private methods, in-game, or here on UOForums) and declare your wish to set up an Unofficial alliance. Your guild will be added to the Guild Listing, and will be included in BRPA decisions and events. Last edited by WarderDragon; 11th March 2008 at 11:55 PM. |
