Yeah...I might have to ummm...go ahead and...umm...disagree with you there.


I find this game as enthralling as ever. I gotta say, I was recently hacked, and the UO Sonoma Community (okay, maybe not the community as a whole, but at least 20 different people) got together and helped me get back on my feet again. If that isn't community, I don't know what is. And it wasn't all just my guildmates, I had people who I barely knew asking if I needed anything to help me make my characters useable again.

So the community is definitely there.

And I would have to say, the last major "nerf" publish was very balancing, and it got rid of a lot of the gimplates out there. I agreed with all but maybe one or two of the thirty-something changes.

As for KR, I definitely think a lot of bugs need to be worked out still, but it has potential. If they add in a few more legacy choices (so those of us used to, say, the old style backpacks will still feel at home), then I'd switch over with no problem...but alas, the last time I was in KR, I typed something in Party chat when I wasn't in a party, and I couldn't get back out of party chat...

Anyway, I've been with UO off and on for the last nine years now (and the offs were mainly due to deployments), and I'm still going strong.

Do I miss some aspects of the old UO? Definitely. Would I like to still be able to turn in a red's head and collect a bounty? Absolutely. Does that mean I'd go back if given the chance? Not on your life. Everyone talks about how great it was pre-tram, but nobody seems to remember that pets wouldn't bond, you always had to worry about losing the keys to your house, random bugs would mess with your character skills, and you couldn't lock skills or stats. On the aggregate, I think the negatives from then far outweigh the negatives from now.

This is what i wanted from a thread, People just stating how they feel about the game, I remember when I first got my 2nd Age Box set, I sat down and logged in and made my First char ever, A Black Smith, I remember getting invited into a house and getting ganked, but You know, It taught me something... It was nice being on my toes and having to not just watch for mindless Monsters. I think the game is interesting still and Some of the Flair Still exist, and I do remember a time where a communty was booming, but, you know its still there, you just have to look harder. I do think that AoS Did a very Hard change and it was a Love or Hate relationship... I do miss the old sets of Armor and Weapons, but you know, We all knew something would have to change one day. I remember getting my Black Smith GM'ed and How proud I was of it, I still am till this day. I think UO will always be a game of Good Memories and I hope another game may come out that will bring me the same Excitement! WoW didn't give me that Mystical UO Feel, But You know there's always hope for another game to bring its Creativity in
