Where did you spend the weekend?

we made a quick trip to North Carolina this weekend. We left Friday morning. Highway 17 through VA is a great ride. The drawbridge over the James River is incredible. I laughed when I saw the sign for the rest stop in NC. "The Dismal Swamp Welcome Center" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Dismal_Swamp

Jacksonville, NC is huge.. and of course home of Camp LeJuene, which I think is bigger than Jacksonville.

We rode down to Topsail Beach on Saturday... three surfers, two kayakers and a fisherman were all trying to do their thing. Having lived in Hawaii I felt really bad for the surfers..... the waves really sucked. Stopped by the Honda Store and amazingly this time we didn't buy anything.

Today we quick tripped it back. Only 7.5 hours from door to door and that included lunch somewhere near Petersburg, VA off Highway 95. Met a nice guy riding a Triumph at the restaraunt we stopped at. I've learned that two motorcycles in the same parking lot means at least15 minutes of conversation. He had a lot of questions about the Goldwing because his wife wants something she can ride on.

It was fun.. lots of riding.. lots of visitting..

So where'd you spend the weekend?

Nothing so adventurous for me .I just stayed at home as always

Working in the garden with dad. Laying out at the beach. Playing a game of softball for the local city league. Going to Roller Rama with friends Saturday night. Church on Sunday. Beach again. Then checking back in Monday morning at the child unit storage depository downtown that they call high school.

Saturday: Mystic Fair daytime and Legends DoND at night...

Sunday: At home, doing utterly nothing!

Saturday: Visiting my parents for my little brother's birthday; fine food, fine music and extroadinary silliness abound.
Sunday: Alternating between curled up on the sofa with partner to watch movies and LOTRO
