I seem to run through leather pretty fast. What's the best place was to get a lot of leather? I took my mage to the Jhelom farm and let a couple of EVs go, but even that was a little slow. I guess I could buy the leather...

Try the fields outside of Delucia,thats a good place also.

On barrier island, west of trinsic for regular leather. If you have a good hunter, Hiryu and lesser hiryu are great as well. So are gamman for that matter.

Baldguy's right....gamans are really good for leather and non-aggie.

Get a mage weapon and a skinning knife/Butcher´s War Cleaver.
skinner and BWC drop readycut leather into your backpack
Get a tamer training runebook (where there is bulls there is cows).
Double ressources in Fel - If you stay in/around Delucia you can even do this inside a guardzone
If you like, get a giant beetle, for less bank trips

It´s still taking time, but should be rather quick.

Thanks for all the replies... just tried Delucia last night and the deer were great. I could attack 10 or 20 of them and have them follow me and then I'd throw an EV down and start skinning. I racked up about 1,200 leather last night. My goal is to accumulate about 10,000 leather while collecting tailoring BOD's with all 5 of my characters (who all have 0.1 tailoring as of last night). When I hit 10,000 leather, I ought to have plenty of BODs to start sorting through.

I believe you cannot get leather BODs with 0.1 tailor. Only cloth BODs. So you should be after the sheep in Yew farms.

Oh, I was just using the mage to "collect" the leather since he's so much more of an efficient animal killer. I collect the cloth bods on my regular characters, transfer them to the tailor who fills them and trades them in for higher end bods. my normal chars can get a bod every hour, so that's what they do. In an efficient evening, I play for a few hours, I might have as many as 15 or so new bods.

I learned this trick from a guy in Stratics some months ago. 0.1 Tailor and 0.1 Smith for all my chars except one. I have 1 char with 120 tailor and 120 smith who turns them in.
I have about 2000 normal BODs waiting to be filled. Another trick, you dont have to craft these, you can just buy them from the tailor or smith vendors.
And even, you can make a UOAssist macro to fill the BODs with the item type. Very helpful..
