Carpentry Question

Are there any runic kits for carpentry? If so how do you get one? If not how would one go about making a kick butt bokuto? Do you enhance regular wood with oak, yew, etc...?

Re: Carpentry Question

Couple of tips ( I see a need for a future runic weapon crafting guide)
Base chance of exceptional bokuto is 65% with GM carpentry.

1) GM arms lore!!! - the DI bonus, though small, is important.

2) For bokuto, due to it's naturally high hit speed, you want to use YEW boards (10% DI, 5% HCI) (you can use any, but Yew is best). With GM arms lore and yew, you can produce 50% DI exceptional weapons.

3) Get a GOOD carpentry talisman with the highest excpetional chance you can find. At GM carp, you have 100% chance of success, 65% chance of exceptional. Therefore, you only need a talisman with exceptional chance bonus.
(talisman max is 30% success, 30% exceptional chance)(Good is 20% / 20% or higher) (bonus is additive to existing chance).

Example: Yew kits produce amazing weapons when *edit!*crafted *edit* with yew boards. I recently produced a *edit!*crafted *edit* bokuto (base material yew boards) with 13 HCI, 50 DI, 38 HLD.

I thought so, I have a friend in my guild how is a GM carp but he not to enhance them.

So I will need to make them out of reguler boards with a yew kit then ehance them with yew boards and a regular kit...correct? Same as if I was enhancing leather with a barbed runic kit.

And yes a future runic weapon crafting guide would be awesome.

Re: Carpentry Question

Merk u can do it that way however the chance of it breaking is soooooo great I wouldnt recommend it. What I would do is use yew kit and yew boards then you get the advantage of both the kit and the boards!

Re: Carpentry Question

Merk, you caught me! Thank you! I had not realized I used the word enhance. I edited that puppy out. Merth is absolutely correct. When crafting ANYTHING with ANY runic for ANY of the skills, ALWAYS use the desired material to craft with. Enhancing after the fact is a HUGE risk when you take into account the # of properties and the intensity of the properties.

A favor if you will. I THINK I clarified this point in the new blacksmith runic crafting thread. Would you read through it (objective eyes) and tell me if I made it clear enough to ALWAYS use the intended material when you craft?
