Also, when working ones way to GM, smelting high level ore one at a time usually results in good gains, but do not do this at the sacrifice of ore. One at a time takes a little longer, but gives a better chance at more ingots and also more chances at gaining.

Lets say you were at 85.7 skill and hit a good Gold Ore vein. Save it. Wait till you get to a higher level to smelt it to keep more of the ingots. Take all the Bronze that you have mined and start smelting that one by one, get it?

Snuggles you need to fix the copper skill level, it is actually 75 not 74.

Baldguy's four ores to GM process:
Needed : +5 mining gloves

1) mine (and single smelt) iron ore to 65, put on gloves - time 3 hours from 30

2) Put on gloves, mine (and single smelt) shadow until you hit 75 w/ gloves on.

3) take off gloves, continue with shadow (mine and single smelt) until 80.

4) At 80, out on gloves, mine and single smelt gold ore until you hit 90.

5) take off gloves, mine and single smelt until 90

6) keep gloves off, mine and single smelt agapite until GM.

This takes advanatge of all the most common ores, so you do not have to search around. I have done this exact process (except I took gold until I was at 94, then put gloves on and mine valorite to GM).

Thoms approach is excellent strategy except ive found as soon as you can mine val with gloves on do so and save all pieces. When you are high enough to mine val without gloves take off and single smelt all you have saved. Orc cave is an excellent spot for working this skill!
