GM Mining

2 questions:

1) What advantage does GM mining bring, and
2) Is there such a thing as mining powerscrolls, and is there any point in getting one?

Re: GM Mining

1) Well, it's pretty obvious: at GM Mining you have the best chances of getting colored ore when mining and less failing when trying to smelt them.
2) No, there are no power scrolls for mining. Only thing there is are blacksmith gloves with +5 Mining, putting you at 105.

Re: GM Mining

Thanks Merion. I wasn't sure if there were any particular bonuses when hitting GM, but you answered that one for me :-(

I have +3 gloves, so I suppose that will do in the meantime.

Re: GM Mining

your going to need a mining for stonecraft book which is only sold in gargoyle city in ilshenar. if you plan to mine granite. you need to "read" this book to allow your character to mine granite (kind of like a precursor to powerscrolls).

also know that if you move mining skill to another character, you will need a new book read by the new character .

Re: GM Mining

GM mining (as well as lower levels) also allows you to dig up treasure chests without having to target the exact tile for your map. Useful, in an obscure sort of way...
