and re-think/design everything... from the ground up, if need be...

1- eliminate Lottery odds systems, such as Bods, ML ingredients, reciepts...

2- a Rarity system based on reality, and not focused for US$ sales... Patting the backs of off site silent partners/promoters... This partnership is desolved...

3- I'd trash the KR client and start a new, with a true 3d world... Like WoW or Lara Croft, but with player housing...

4- I'd take a gamble on loosing all 150,000 current subs, in the hopes of drawing Millions of subs...

WoWs got something alot of ppl like and I think its called "simplicity"...

Well said UoGuy it would be a huge gamble, which I dont think EA will invest/risk the money for but would be an awesome plan. The incentive for vets could be some form of return on investment (if not actually able to replace everything lost) then possibly offering a closed beta/open beta period only available to vets. Which allows vets to get premium spots and a head start on the game play!

I just wish I knew what it was like to play before AoS. Only been playing for 14 months.

its not that much of gamble really.. KR is more to keep the subs they got.. wont bring that many new.. and from what we know already.. as many new that came.. left.

How many of the current subs just got their account active because of house?... MANY..

a totally new UO... would on other hand bring in alot of new players with right ads... just look at Tabula Rasa.. Richard Gariott has done amazing Ads.. been all over to advertise his game.. Well done.

Oh I would definitely agree with you in theory! KR and SA was why I kept my acct active. With the total flop of KR I couldnt wait around for SA so I went inactive. The main reason I came back was to keep my house from falling as I didnt take the time to "pack up". And I'm on my second acct build-up after taking a 3 yr sabatical and losing almost everything from first go around.

Hey Merth, While I'm not all savey on the Technical issues... I would think that if one had all the "Backup" data... One could easily convert all accounts with item inventory, houses, etc.. and duplicate the Realm, before the servers become active...

It COULD be seamless and all existing players would have everything they now have... NP.. after all it is just bits&bites of computer data...

To make it easier on them, they could "temporerily" have unlinited item counts for banks and ask use to please move all our stuff to our banks, and leave our houses empty... That way they could just copy the inventory to the newer bank box... I'm sure a GM would have to hand place each house in the world and designate an owner... No need to have the player there at all...

If orginized right, I would go through the transition...

It's kinda funny... 6 years ago and to a small degree today, any talk of a "3D" UO would have been Hotly argued idea...

But, today I think everyone has at least tried WoW and found "its not all bad".... Takes a bit of getting used too though...

I would opt for the Lara Croft style engine... Being able to run, jump, grab and shimmy sideways along a ledge or rope sounds appealling for adventure... along with duck/roll...

With WoWs Auction House/Mail system, PvP system....

and UOs Housing system & Champion system...

They'd have one heck of a game if they could put it all together.... With Crafting included...
