Re: UO:KR interface guide

Backpacks

may be used in one of three views.

Slot, Classic and List Views.

To change Views, click the small 'gem' near the backpack in the top left hand corner.

Hints

  • To select a quantity of 'items' (eg bandages/gold/pots) from a stack, press 'shift' and drag the item. This opens a quantity box to allow you select how many you want.v

  • Because you can now 'right click' to loot corpses, items fall directly into your backpack.
    A good way to stop this loot from mixing with your 'normal' items and creating a big mess is to carry a couple of containers of different color, one for your items' and one for your 'loot'.
    Note that items such as bandages and spellbooks must remain in the main backpack to be able to use them irrespective of whether or not they are in a hotbar (or in the case of a spellbook it needs to be equipped if not in the main backpack). If you wish to have a runebook with a default setting to 'target' that must also be in your main backpack.
    Other items such as a dagger, petals, bag of sending, scissors, bandy talismans, other runebooks, spare jewelry, weapons etc may be put in your 'items' bag.
    All of these items with a 'use' such as pots, petals, bos, runebooks etc may then be dragged to a Hotbar (see KR Hotbars) to 'use' and can be accessed from these hotbars with one click. With all your 'other items' out of your main pack, it is then easy to see the loot as it is picked up. This maybe dragged between monsters into the 'loot' box to 'keep things tidy' which you can sort after hunting.
    I recommend you leave your gold pile in your main backpack to avoid having to find it in your 'loot' box if you get heavy and need to send it to the bank quickly!

  • When you log in it is a good idea to open your main backpack and any other containers inside any other containers such as an 'item bag' to ensure the contents refreshes. Until refreshed you may not be able to get the item in the hotbar to work.
  • Note that 'backpacks' and other containers within your 'items' bag (if you use one), may also be placed in a hotbar.
    For example, my Paladin carries a few slayer weapons around but I do not wish them to be on equip macros as they are used rarely.
    So I have a weapon pouch within my 'items' bag and this pouch is on my 'items' hotbar.
    You can click on the pouch on this hotbar and it will open as a regular backpack so you can select from the pack to equip without using your main backpack.

Re: UO:KR interface guide

Hotbars

Main Hotbar

Resizing and Customizing Hotbars

Hotbars area easy to resize and customize. The picture above is self explanatory and shows how simple it is.

To create a hotbar click on any box in the Hotbar at the bottom of your screen and select . A new Hotbar will appear horizontally with the standard 12 hotkey spots. This hotbar may be moved wherever you like and resized or made vertical as shown in the diagram above. How you arrange your desktop with the new bars is up to you. You may prefer to play with the scrolling Main Hotbar and not create any further, or just use the 1st bar in the main and put your other bars elsewhere to your liking. It is really up to you and personal preference!

To remove any hotbar click on it and select . You will be prompted to confirm that destroying the hotbar is what you wish to do to avoid mistakes.

Placing Icons in Hotbars

Information

Customizing has never been easier, just drag and drop spells, skills, virtues and created macro icons, ethereal mounts, weapons, bandages, rune books, spellbooks, bags of sending, talismans, pet balls, food, and any other item you like into a hotbar for 'one click' access. No more shuffling through your backpack to find those 'orange petals' when a quick poison fix is required, need a potion just click on it!. Icons may be dragged from your paperdoll, spellbooks, menu gumps and your backpack.

Hints
  • Make sure once you create your hotbar and place items/spells etc, you set the target by 'right clicking' on the item or spell and select 'self' 'cursor' or 'current'. If your BOS won't give you a 'cursor' it is probably trying to send that chest you last clicked on to the bank!
  • Keep your main backpack as 'clean' as possible so that 'right click' looting doesn't mix your loot up with your normal items. You can put whatever items you carry in a separate container, within your main pack, the icons will still work. (eg: in my main backpack I keep One runebook with 'home' as default for a quick get away which I can target, my spellbooks that aren't equipped on the pdoll, gold, bandages, an 'Item' bag, and a 'Loot' box. The items in the Main backpack and 'Item' bag are loaded into my hotbars for instant use.)
  • Items you require an updated 'count' on need to be in the main backpack, eg bandages, pots, regs, gold. Spellbooks also need to be in your main backpack or equipped to the paperdoll. If you keep your 'gold' on your hotbar you can see instantly how much you have, and if it is in your main pack you can target it with the BOS to send when you get heavy.
  • When an item is no longer in your backpack it will 'grey out' to show you it needs to be replaced.
  • You can place a container in a hotbar to get access to items that you don't need often but still carry. Clicking on it will open it directly and you may 'use' it as any normal container.
  • Rather than wasting a good key on your keyboard by assigning a macro to it, put the common 'SAY' terms such as 'bank' on a 'Say' macro and drag it to a hotbar, click once and speak!

Re: UO:KR interface guide

Take a walk through The CHAT & SYSTEM Menus
with Queen Mum, who took the time to compile this useful guide .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some additions introduced since the above was written.
Talking in game may now be done in two ways:
  • Legacy Chat Mode: talk and press enter.
type: / before talking for party chat.
type: / before talking for guild chat.
type: / for alliance chat.
To set Legacy chat go to the Main Menu/User Settings/Interface and check-mark the legacy chat mode box.
  • KR Chat Mode (default) - All talking is done by the ENTER key before and after you say something. This mode lets you use all keys on the keyboard to set macro's without spamming the keystrokes once you have finished and go to speak, so ie, no more fhslslslhglsassaaaa after you are finished fighting and go to talk.
eg: Hail, tis a fine day! This takes a bit of getting used to at first and if you forget you will end up with a lot of pop up boxes as some letter keys are defaulted to open certain other menus. It is just something you will need to get used to.
Talking in guild chat it is performed by:
eg: \Hail, tis a fine day! (using the 'old' guild forward slash key after enter "\")
To talk in alliance chat it is performed by:
eg \Hail, tis a fine day! (using the 'old' alliance shift & forward slash keys after enter "\")
Party chat is same as in the normal clientexcept you have to hit enter first.
/ [type words]
BUT its bugged and YOU (not others) see the words over your head
To add to/quit from a party the commands are:
/add (which will give you a cursor to target the person)
and
/quit (to leave party)
You may also leave party by targetting yourself and right clicking on the target box and select leave party.
Re: UO:KR interface guide
Quick question:
I've downloaded KR onto another computer in my house. Is there any way, like in 2D, to snag all the character files and copy them to the new computer so I don't have to redo all my macros and hotbars?
Thanks in advance!
I'm at work, so I can't check, but have a look under MyDocuments, there should be a KR folder under which your settings should be.
