Re: Those of you with vendors

I have vendors who sell full Potion Kegs, Recalls, Plants, GM weapons, GM Leathers and Metal Armor, carpentered items, odds and ends... If I make 5k a week off of them all cumulative, I'm doing good. My weapons and armor almost never sell. Strangely, the kegs I expected to sell now and then, but they sell like one a month. I can sell Parrot Wafers almost immediately. Used to sell some fruit baskets and other new food items, but that slowed to a crawl.

I put on BOD rewards when I get them, for very reasonable prices, and they usually sell within a week or so... see.... very slow. Anymore I feel like I am paying the vendors to hold things so my house won't be so full. It's kinda disappointing. I used to need to fill them from almost empty about a year ago. My house is two or three screens east of Luna in an almost straight shot, and I don't advertize, so I guess I can't complain. It's a great spot to live, not crowded or laggy. You take the good with the bad, and all in all, I prefer the spot to the sales.

Re: Those of you with vendors

Rares, basically. None of my vendors are ever permanent, but I do try to keep one up. Soemtimes I enjoy stocking rather common, disregarded things that you can never seem to find when you actually need them.

Something I tried a year ago on Napa to help promote those vendors still in Britannia (Trammel and Felucca) was to establish a vendor rune network. Sooo much vending has been moved to Luna that the days of plentiful Britannia vendors on Napa have gone, so I thought why not all help to promote one another? I marked runes to all the Trammel and Felucca vendors I could find, and then made runebook volumes of them and distributed copies to all the owners whose vendors I had marked to. The idea was basically cross promotion, but it relied on being constantly updated, which I quickly fell short of doing.

I do think there is a lot of potential for it, though..whether from my standpoint of trying to help the Britannia-only vendors or people just wanting to establish a collection of good vendors across the entire shard. I hope to put effort into it again soon and see if I can't make it work.

Re: Those of you with vendors

Yes Snowy as you say ....it's like paying your vendors to hold things so your house isn't too full. I spend about 45mins every forth day killing Titans and Cyclops to pay my vendors and if lucky get some decent things to sell.

The runebok of vendors seems like a good idea may give that a shot Terrance.

Runes have been dropped round Luna and all Banks on Trammel, checked this morning and all runes on my vendor have gone.....well someone must be using them.

Re: Those of you with vendors

Our vendor house is on Moonglow, Sonoma and the mainstays are bulk recall scrolls, arrows & bolts, and full potion kegs. We also keep a pretty nice supply of the different styles of furniture available.

We try to maintain a diversified assortment on our vendors so will not always have everything. It never hurts to ask if you need a crafted item!

Other items we carry include: plant resources, inscription tools, runed switches, parrot wafers, GM leather armors, Bods (however the tailoring bods are usually sold out), GM and enhanced bows, etc.

I actually still have the runebooks in a bank box. I came across them just the other day. It took me a minute to realize what they were.

Re: Those of you with vendors

I'm terrible at upkeep, I have a vendor somewhere in Luna. I just throw stuff on it when I'm clearing out lockdowns in my house lol.

Maybe make little kits with treasure maps, say two bags? And the idea of it is, this would be every map you needed to make a tattered wall map so they don't have to go farther looking for certain levels. I'd definately do it for sure, hehe!

Re: Those of you with vendors

I have and maintain 9 vendors on legends at the Timeless Antiquities Museum which I also happen to own lol. But here's how my set up looks.

Vendor 1:
Free stuff that I don't want anymore, Snowmen, Weapons that don't meet my standards, etc.....Mainly holiday gifts and such though that I have like 100's of and just need a way to get rid of them.

Vendor 2:
Items aquired by fishing up SoS's...I've noticed that on this vendor the Pillows and Portraits is what I can't keep in stock.

Vendor 3:
Cooked goods, mainly fishsteaks right now since my cook is still only in the 60's. But they tend to sell well since I sell them at 225 gold per 500 fish steaks lol.

Vendor 4:
Is a empty container vendor, carrying the Empty Containers of SoS's and Ancient SoS's, Paragon Chests, the Gold Metal containers, etc....basically the containers that can't be gotten by simply crafting them. These are all containers spawned in some fashion or another.

Vendor 5:
Is a "Runes 2 Here" Vendor that basically just stays stocked with return runes to that location for free .

Vendor 6:
Currently empty but plan on turning it into another plant vendor.

Vendor 7:
Has a varity of plants on it.

Vendor 8:
Has a varity of plants on it.

Vendor 9:
Currently empty but plan on turning it into another plant vendor.

but that's how the 9 vendors I have are set up, I didn't really set these vendors up for some major profit, the reason I set them up was mainly just to fill up space in the vendor section of the T*T museum so it didn't look so bare lol. I've noticed the only way to make profits from a vendor house that isn't 1. In Luna Square or right outside the gates of luna or 2. Next to a Moongate, is to drop runes for advertisement. Also keep your prices well below the compatition...yeah you don't make as much on the item when purchased, but you save in vendor rental fees so in the end it about equals out.

Re: Those of you with vendors

I have definitely kept my prices well below Luna prices. Those are just Obscene. I sell Bless Deeds for not more than 30k each when I have one to spare, and my armor items are 'vendor priced' or lower, unless they are high LRC.... I have Smithing and Tailoring PS on the vendors, and the 115s are 15k, the 120s are 35k.... you can't find them at that price very often, but they are just sitting there.

I know things aren't going to sell and that makes it a nice surprise when something actually does. I haven't had to restock my plant and alchemy, scribe vendors in three weeks... Made some nice Dragonscale a month ago, and not one piece sold, same with the weapons, some of which are made with 'ingredients' and pretty nice. The pricing is kept low enough that newer players can afford some fairly good things, but since they aren't dyed brightly or arties, they often get ignored. Can't blame people. I have gotten my armor the way I want it, and rarely change up any of it. I suppose many people do the same.

Re: Those of you with vendors

Well from when I first started this thread, on checking my vendors this evening (which I do every evening) I have actualy had not one but a few sales on Luck, Mediable and Resists Looted Armour. Sales totaled 12800gp. Nice haul but when you think of what I have had to pay the vendors over the same time............

Well at least I've had the sales:cheesy:
