Hear ye! Hear ye! By order of the Council of Jhelom the town laws are thus!

PETTY CRIME

No disrespect to any member of the Guard, the guard may use his or her discression in this instance. A fine of 50 gold is applicable. If the accused is unable to pay the fine within 3 days or re-offends then 10 minuets jail time shall be served.

Littering : If a member of the public is caught disposing of waste inpropperly an on the spot fine of 10 gold shall be issued. If the defendant is unable to pay the fine he or she shall propperly dispose of the waste under the supervision of a guard and be subjected to 5 minuets in the stocks. Throwing of soft fruits by the town guard is permitable, however Guards will remain impartial and shall not partake in the throwing of any missiles at that accused.

Smoking of nightshade 100 gold. In Jhelom the smoking of such substances is considered to be rebel like activity and is extreemly frowned upon. If the accused has over ten measures of nightshade on his person then and fails to produce a mage lisence he or she shall be considered to be a smuggler.

Smuggling : 250 gold. Smuggles are to be arrested and fined. Heavy questioning shall be undertaken at the jail. The accused will be asked questions like how the shade was provided, customers and personal details which will be added to record.

Harrassment or Loutish behavour will warrent a short stay in the cells. Repeat offenders will be fined the sum of 50 gold.

Snooping : If civilians are caught snooping around the guards activities a fine of 500 gold will be given. On failing to pay the fine the persons involved will be jailed.

SERIOUS CRIMES

Compromising public saftey : If a guard deems the public to be at risk via the actions of any citizen then he or she will be arrested and brought to an officer where the relevant actions shall take place.

Kidknapping : Kidknapping is a very serious offence. Offenders will be brought to trial. Fines can be up to 10,000 gold or a lengthy prison sentance.

Spying : Those found guilty of spying will be detained indefinatly. Whether the spy is killed or not is up to the captains descression.

Murder : Murderes will be brought to trial before a judge. Fines are limitless. In some cases capital punishment will take place.

High Treason : All found guilty of this offence will be hung in public.
