Yesterday was a busy day (Memorial Day/last day of Ren Fest).

Lets see........

1. Marched in a veterans parade at Scarborough Faire (our local Renaissance Faire). I march every weekend with the Scottish Brigade but on Memorial Day we break out the American flag and all 5 branches of the military flags. We invite all the vets to march. We had around 200 vets with us this year. With the Scots, Musketeers, and Pirates all forming a sword arch that was about 100 feet long. (a bit overwhelming)

2. Went with the Scottish Brigade and went to war to get Queen Margaret her regency back and protect James V. That means a bunch of playtrons ran through the Faire with pikes and swords to take over the Scottish Court. (playtron- noun. Idiot who pays to enter a park and then work as hard as the cast, but for free) During a flood of biblical proportions! (in the rain we should have been concerned about lightning...our pikes are 12 foot long, steel tipped pole arms)

3. Had to say good by to quite a few friends that travel with the Ren Fest circuit.

But they will be back in only 44 weeks. :hat15:

4. During the Pub Sing I was able to make one of the singers almost fall offstage from laughing so hard. During the chorus of the Mermaid song when they say 'We sailors go skipping along' I switched out my garb (Ren costume) hat for my dixie cup (sailor white hat), and of course I was up dancing at the time (that is pretty scary to begin with). Marcus almost choked he was laughing so much. (Lucky I had the dixie cup since it was Memorial Day)
