Re: Best Father's day gift ever

Actually I'd have to say this past Father's Day. For a couple of reasons.
First, my daughter and grandson slept over and we woke to having Ethan having the top of his first 2 teeth popping thru.
And second it was the first Fathers Day I've had off in over 20 years. If my son was home it would have been perfect.

So, to me, the gift was seeing my grandson the morning of his first teeth.

What can I say, I'm a simple guy.

Hey that's great! My kids got me a great large frying pan, which I love! Who'da thunk I would enjoy getting cooking utensils!

Re: Best Father's day gift ever

I don't think anything tops the first Father's Day (regardless of gifts).

It was more of an eye opener where you get that "Yeah, I AM a father, and it feels good" thing.

Re: Best Father's day gift ever

I have to agree with you, DiP. That first time you are able to claim the "father" role is the best. That being said, my daughter gave me this three years ago, and I have cherished it ever since. It is just a simple paper plate with her picture pasted to it and a bunch of stickers and pompoms, but I love it. It has hung near my desk since I received it.

Ari that is beautiful

I hate to say it but what my dad enjoys most... is budwiser and a pack of marlboro. But I think our fishing trips when we were little were the best.

Re: Best Father's day gift ever

My daughter made a card for me and it was awesome- it was in 3D and contained a pint of Guinness (all though I dont drink it).

She is only nine years young but the card will last much longer!
