Despite not having a lot of love for the 2d client, I decided I'd wander around the latest urban addition to Sosaria (New Haven) and see what I could find.
What I found was a bunch of quests! However, you need truely sucky skills.

For instance, there is a quest from the swordmaster, he asks you to train to 50 swordsmanship and he'll give you a sword, a really cool one! So I made a warrior (a proper warrior-warrior) and set his skill to 49 in advanced char gen, and completed the quest within minutes!

And I got a sword, Jockles Quicksword or something, it's a a pretty decent (not uber or anything) sword, but whats more is that it is blessed, which is REALLY handy (especially for me). A bunch of others give out armour and all kinds. But you can't do the quests if you have more than 50 in the relevent skill.

Anyway, it all seems pretty helpful, especially to new players or older ones with new chars on chessy. So I can give Winmere some of that armour back now, or pay for it with some nifty blessed goods!

The developers have said they will be adding new things (for instance, there isn't a fencing trainer yet, so no fencing weapon, but they will put that in.

What it doesn't mention in that link is the Necromancy Quest/Trainer. He will give you a full necromancer spellbook for doing his quest, which is hugely helpful if you have problems aquiring them.

Very nice equipment indeed!! Excellent "rewards" for time and effort to advance one's muscle or brain within the Realm.

I'm still looking for that faster casting fishing rod -- one that will let me catch those fleeting fish faster and faster.

There is a fishing quest! and the reward is a peppercorn fishsteak. I've no idea if that's valuable or unique or not though. =P

That quest has been around for sometime. Only advantage to peppercorn fishsteaks, they will fill you up faster then regular fishsteaks

Oh, is he one of the old haven quest people? does that mean they moved the guy who gives out red leather books to new haven too? and the one who gives out the nifty old ring and bracelet?

I haven't heard about those being in New Haven yet. So can't say for sure
