I like that idea Shadow... The use of perhaps only GM armor and weapons is also enticing. I miss the days when Crafters would stock their vendors with GM crafted equipment to be used by all. Leveled the playing field a bit, and made RP'ing a crafter more viable.
It's certainly food for thought. We'll just have to see how things unfold.

sorry if im intruding on this i was just checking out this fourm here and i noticed your conversation so i figured i would offer some imput.when a character is created why not have 2 options to create a combatant or a civilian a combatan is vulunerable to all types of killing pvp .pk'ing and stealing while a civialian can be crafters or so one and not be subseblble to outside fighting civilians can roam free of danger but be marked but they also can not have the advantages of combatants and fighting and running that would allow everyone to enjoy gameplay they can set up vendors and run around and be safe picking up loot and stuff but only on the floor or left on a corpse..just a thought

I dont have the time to write it all up right now but, ill have tons of rules on it and this is an idea so give me a chance to write up the full idea before people give me the "You do this I quit."
Please just let me get the whole thing out. It shoudl be done at 6am because im leaving for work. It wont be like fel. If you want pvp build your city in fel. Im not talking six Ubber PvP 100% lrc 14mr 40lmc every artie on with combos setup and ubber hacks like you get in fel and your droped in three seconds then 20 other reds show up and kill you in houses and ruin anything you try to do. Thats not what im looking at doing. Im not looking at PVP im looking at RK. Roleplayed killings. Im not looking at stealing. Where they steal your Staff of the Magi. You would have a pouch in your bag engraved. (Gareths Gold Pouch) Someone comes up to you and trys to rob you by demanding your pouch that has 50gp in it. Now somene wouldnt do that if your with someone else or in a group or doing an event. Like I said ill have something written out with rules and certain ways for those that dont wish to participate in it have a way out. But a reminder if you dont participate in it you wont be able to take part in certain events nor will you be able to help anyone being robbed. But, once you see how its setup and what doors it may open you might think its not such a bad idea. So ill have it written out tonight. I dont plan to just say its implimented without a massive large backing of it and to setup a way for people who are against it to still be able to stay in guilds and in the city. |

And when I say "all" the roleplayers are orange your talking 100s of chars on europa. They seem to have come up with a system that works, I'm sure all of them do not like pvp. B) It was also stated that a blue in a group of oranges may "act up" more because he is untouchable. For those of you who are concerned about dying, are you in a guild now? do any of your members spar? I'm just showing the example that you are vulnerable to fellow members already! I don't believe Gareth is talking about rampant pvp, or a guild war.....I believe he is talking about taking a step to add more realism by adding the "Option" of "Combat" (I like that better then pvp), for a group of role-players. As for the whole loot bag, I think the stealing is more for rp then to fill ones pockets with gold. Imagine the challenge of a thief trying to pick-pocket those attending a meeting? then imagine the fun of capturing said thief and putting him on trial. Or all the weird stuff you can fill your pouch with?!?!?! If the right people are picked to interact with, i.e. people who want to roleplay more then anything else, the risk will be greatly reduced. It shouldn't be any more dangerous then just being in a guild. You might want to steer clear of that paxcore thing, make it about role-play, not just pax role-play and you may get more interest. Always stamping the "pax" label on stuff can sometimes get old with the general masses, just my 2 shinnies! -Good Luck! |
