![]() | Who are the Temple of Dark Light Please note that all below is OOC information to all but guild members! Not much is known from the history of this secretive organization, but this much can be gathered from ancient writings... In ages long past, nine powerful Necromancers, staunch followers of the Dark King, tried to summon their God to the realm of Sosaria. They were met with heavy resistance by the elves, who proclaimed that destruction would follow the bringing of the Dark King. A great war ensued and eventually, the Nine were forced to flee. They went to hiding, in secret places, sleeping, waiting until they would be revived and thus could finish their task - to bring the Dark King and to bring His world. Centuries passed... Eventually, the elves returned to Sosaria and with them, brought their knowledge of the Nine, telling the tale in their songs. One of these songs was overheard by a man, a secret worshipper of the Dark King, though to him He was known with a different name. He realized that with the help of others like him, he would be able to find the secret resting places of the Nine, and to revive them one by one. Finally, they would be able to summon their God and Saviour, ending the reign of the false. And so it begins... Last edited by Stormcrow; 1st April 2007 at 03:35 PM.. |

![]() | OOC Concept The Temple of the Light is an organization aimed to ultimately bring their Dark King (also known as the Guardian) to the realm of Sosaria. They believe they shall be receiving great gifts of power from their God as a sign of His gratitude, and the faithless shall be their slaves for all eternity. The Temple is played in several stages. Each stage is a smaller goal towards the summoning of the Dark King. Later stages are only revealed as the story takes progress. Stage 0 - The Gathering The Aspirants of the Temple have found evidence of the Nine being buried somewhere in the world. They are gathering knowledge and manpower to aid in their search. Only via the revival of the Nine shall they have hope of actually realizing the realm of their God, ascending above the heretics that currently rule over the land. Once they find the resting place of one of the Nine, they shall be greatly enlightened by His wisdom... Stage 0 begun at 1st of April, 2007 and is currently active. |

![]() | Playing an Aspirant of the Temple A common Aspirant (as the basic members of the Temple are called) is extremely interested in the occult. His biggest reason of joining the Temple is the pursuit of forbidden knowledge. He knows of the promises of immortality, eternal pleasure and untold power. On top of that, most Aspirants have a second motive, be it revenge or the lust of battle. An Aspirant knows that only through knowledge shall the Temple succeed in it's ultimate goal. Therefore he is always watching and listening, hanging to every bit of information that might be useful. He also knows that the longer the Temple can be kept secret, the better are their chances of success. Therefore an Aspirant will never reveal the location of the Temple to anyone, for any reason. An Aspirant will always wear the Temple colors, provided to him on initiation. He knows that they are the only way he can recognize fellow Brothers of faith, and to be recognized by them in return. An Aspirant will not pick fights or draw attention to himself. All publicity will draw the tyrants and faithless towards the plans of the Temple. They will do everything in their power to stop us, if they learn our true goals. We cannot have that. |

![]() | Playing a Crusader Crusaders... the now long dead bodyguard of the Nine. In the war against the elves it was them who were first to engage the enemy, and the last to retreat. When the war ended, only a handfull of them survived. And with the help of the remaining Aspirants, they hid the Nine in their sleeping places. The Crusaders are ferocious warriors, totally devoted to the Cause of the Nine and the bringing of the Dark King. To be a Crusader is to be on a constant Quest to fulfill their Masters' every wish. They feel neither remorse, pity nor fear. Only the most fervent and able of the Aspirants may become Crusaders through a ritual. In this ritual a spirit of one of the original Crusaders is called upon to live in the Aspirant's body. The Aspirant remains as oneself, but is infused with the spirit's vigor, effectively binding to the will of the Nine forever. With the infusing, the shadowy plate armour forms upon the very skin of the Aspirant, thus preventing one from never removing it again. OOC: Crusaders are the "elite" warriors of the Temple. A player who's character is about to be ascended into a Crusader should note that the character is thereafter reserved for the combat events only, and cannot be used to mingle around the RP scene. A Crusader can choose weapons freely, but is restricted to black (shadow or tokuno dyed) metal and/or dragon armour. Their signature is the horned dragon helm. A Crusader is not able to remove his/her armour (except non-publicly when getting it repaired), not even the helm, so choose wisely if and when you wish to become a Crusader... ![]() | Playing an Elven member A hot, sharp pain as the knife sliced into the flesh of the elf's palm. "Do you swear to renounce the sins of your people?" she asked. "I swear." came the response, followed by a searing pain in his left hand as the knife was drawn across his other palm. "Do you swear to renounce the sins of your people?" she asked again. "I swear." came the response. This time a more pronounced pain as the knife was slicing into the flesh of the elf's chest. As it dribbled down his front, it was caught in a bowl. When the bowl was filled, she asked once more. "Do you swear to renounce the sins of your people?" "I swear." His blood was trickling down his head, staining his hair and stinging his eyes. With a horrible wrench he was drawn towards the altar and his hands held over it. He watched as his blood dripped onto the altar. "A bond made in blood. It will hold you to your word..." There are, of course, elves who repent of their races sins against us, and who wish to join our cause. They are few and far between, however, and must gain our trust before they are inducted into the Temple Brethren. After their initiation, they are considered to be washed of all their race's sins, and are to be treated exactly the same as any other member of the Brethren. Their hair is dyed dark red, a symbol of their initiation where their blood is poured over their heads. It is a constant reminder to them and others of the Brethren that they have forsaken their race and its sins. OOC: We allow people to play elven members, but with the following restrictions. They must prove to be a competent roleplayer. This is because of the increased demands of playing an elven character in a society that essentially hates them. This will take the form of a more complicated in character interview than normal, simply to ascertain your roleplaying ability. You will be given the title "Penitent". You will have equal status both IC and OOC, and wear the same uniform as the Aspirants. You must not have a disgusting skin colour, or if you do you must be able to hide it with Vampiric Embrace ("disgusting" is at the recruiters discretion). The same rule applies to hair colour, but since that is remedied in the initiation it is inconsequential. Christmas Trees need not apply. Plus all the usual restrictions associated with CoRE, and our own guild specific ones. ![]() Rilash Mors: AGM, ICQ:156814884 Last edited by Rilash Mors; 25th April 2007 at 12:48 PM.. |
